Credence has an immediate need for a Mechanical Engineer at the junior level to support our Special Operations Forces/Personnel Rescue program within the Armament Sustainment Division (AFLCMC/EBW) at Robins AFB, GA. The Special Operations Forces/Personnel Rescue (SOF/PR) Integrated Product Team (IPT) provides sustainment and executes the processes for development and ongoing support of SOF/PR Weapon Systems. The SOF/PR IPT ensures continuing review, assessment, and update of product support arrangements to identify existing or projected cost driver and performance shortfalls, along with identifying potential product support concepts to halt or reduce cost increases and alleviate performance shortfalls. The SOF/PR IPT manages the Operations and Support (O&S) sustainment plan of various gun and weapon systems. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to the duties listed below • The Mechanical Engineer will perform mechanical/aerospace/materials engineering work involving in the application of advanced theories, concepts, principles, and processes to the acquisition, development, and sustainment of weapon systems, subsystems, and/or support equipment. • Will plan, organize, direct, and coordinate significant and complex projects involving the science of mechanical engineering (e.g., statics, dynamics, tribology, mechanical wear, fatigue, corrosion, fluid dynamics, thermodynamics, and heat transfer) and the science and practice of aeronautics involving airborne vehicles traversing the earth’s atmosphere and space flight, along with developing and applying the means of testing, evaluation, life prediction, and standardization of materials and their properties for use in engineering designs and projects. • This includes the generation and interpretation of technical data such as 2D drawings and 3D models. Education, Requirements and Qualifications • Minimum of Secret security clearance required. • Education/Experience criteria must be met: • BS degree in Engineering from an ABET Accredited University and four (4) years of experience in the respective technical/professional discipline being performed. Working Conditions and Physical Requirements Job may require the employee to be: • Willingness to travel if required. • Maybe in a stationary position 50% of the time • Able to ascend/descend stairs as required • Able to move equipment not to exceed 25 lbs. as needed.
