PRIMARY FUNCTION: Move the train periodically to ensure it’s operating properly. RESPONSIBILITIES AND TASKS: • Perform inspections on the locomotive before and after runs • Safely operate the train between stations • Monitor on-board meters and gauges including air pressure, battery charge, amperage, and train speed • Troubleshoot minor breakdowns • Perform basic train maintenance when required • Identify opportunities for improvement, develop improvement, present to appropriate personnel, and lead or participate in the implementation of improvement • Wear personal protective equipment in all areas where required • Perform additional relevant duties as assigned SUPERVISOR RESPONSIBILITIES: • None. This is an individual contributor role with required competencies: Functional/Technical Skills, Action Oriented, Problem Solving, Learning on the Fly, and Interpersonal Savvy EDUCATION and CERTIFICATIONS: • High school diploma or GED • Must have Occupational license-Certified Train Operator.
