This role aligns team member activities with plant production needs and balancing daily resource needs with short-, medium- and long-term objectives. Also responsible for providing technical expertise and support to local plant strategic initiatives by leading and participating in projects/activities that are in support of Hollister’s Mission and Vision. Responsibilities • Lead and directs engineering/technician staff in driving activities such as, project identification, planning and completing assigned tasks to meet the established timeline, budget and key project deliverables. • As required, functions as a working manager • Works closely with GE manager and responsible for plant machine capacities and Capacity models. • Oversee the creation, completion, evaluation, and approval of engineering documentation relating to production processes and development. • Participate in the identification, development, and evaluation/financial justification for capital projects executed by plant VSE’s. • Develop, implement, and evaluate overall engineering strategy to support existing production equipment and processes in the plant. • Oversee machine/process KPI systems and reporting for the plant. • Monitor and identify skill set requirements for VSE team and develop direct reports to align with company needs. • Other duties as assigned or required Essential Functions of the Role • Prolonged periods of sitting and standing • Ability to interface with a computer for a long period of time • Frequent movement over large manufacturing floor area • Public speaking requirements • Significant reading and writing requirements. • Constant utilization of listening skills, both person to person and over the phone • Work flexible start/stop times, across all shifts – multi-shift operations Work Experience Requirements • Number of Overall Years Necessary: Minimum of 5 years in engineering related field • Project management experience a plus • 3+ years of relevant experience (in manufacturing environment preferred), 3+ years of project management experience, 1+ years of management experience preferred Education Requirements • BS in Engineering required OR Associates degree in engineering, with at least 12 years of manufacturing engineering or machine design experience Specialized Skills/Technical Knowledge • Independent judgement and interpersonal skills • Demonstrated Leadership & Coaching ability in a manufacturing environment with strong collaboration skills preferred. • Ability to provide and receive constructive feedback at all levels within the organization. • Project Management skills • Knowledge of good manufacturing practices and lean manufacturing methodologies • ISO and FDA experience in a medical device manufacturing environment preferred. • Knowledge/experience in manufacturing process development, in film/web sealing preferred. • Ability to communicate effectively (written and oral) at all levels within the organization including public speaking and presentations. • Understanding of industrial controls and relevant software regarding machine controls and process (OEE) monitoring and reporting • CAD skills is a plus Local Specifications (English and Local Language) • English About Hollister Incorporated Hollister Incorporated is an independent, employee-owned company that develops, manufactures and markets healthcare products worldwide.
