Mechanical Designer I - Staunton, VA - Hybrid Make your mark at the world's largest HVAC company Daikin Applied is seeking a Mechanical Designer I who will use computer-based tools to design parts and assemblies, create production drawings, and manage a parts list. Mechanical Designer I will also originate, develop, or modify product designs from conception to finished manufacturing documentation assuring quality, manufacturability, functionality, serviceability, and cost have been considered. Location: Hybrid, Staunton, VA What you will do: Create engineering documentation including SolidWorks, modeling, fabrication and purchase drawings that conform to Daikin standards Translate engineering/marketing intent into manufacturing documentation Work with Marketing/Sales to provide documentation for original designs or custom modifications of current products to meet weekly production schedules Exhibit a sense of design and mechanical aptitude with abstract thinking and reasoning skills. Demonstrate creative ability, accuracy, and cost-effectiveness Complete work assignments within the determined time frame and use judgment in determining assignment goals Gain knowledge of design and manufacturing practices, processes, and Daikin products.
