The Mechanical General Foreman is responsible for overseeing all aspects of the mechanical phase on a utility-scale solar project, including pile installation, racking system assembly, and module installation. This role ensures productivity, quality, and safety standards are met while coordinating daily field operations, managing crews, and collaborating with other disciplines on site. Key Responsibilities: ● Supervise and coordinate daily activities of mechanical crews, including pile drivers, racking teams, and module installers. ● Ensure work is performed in accordance with project plans, specifications, and schedules. ● Plan and schedule manpower and equipment needs to meet production targets. ● Communicate daily with the Superintendent and Project Manager regarding progress, issues, and coordination with civil and electrical phases. ● Perform quality control inspections to ensure structural components (piles, racks, modules) are installed to specification. ● Enforce and promote jobsite safety policies, conducting daily safety meetings and equipment inspections. ● Track and report labor hours, materials used, and quantities installed. ● Read and interpret blueprints, site plans, and technical drawings related to the mechanical scope. ● Coordinate with logistics teams to ensure timely delivery and staging of materials. ● Provide training, mentorship, and direction to foremen and crew leads. ● Address and resolve field-level problems and escalate issues as needed. Requirements: ● 5+ years of solar construction experience, with at least 2 years in a supervisory role on utility-scale projects. ● Proven experience in pile installation, racking systems, and solar module installation. ● Strong knowledge of mechanical construction practices and productivity tracking. ● Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, and schedules. ● Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills. ● Proficiency with tablets or field productivity software (e.g., Procore, Raken, or similar). ● OSHA 30 certification preferred. ● Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions and lift up to 50 lbs.
