Position Summary: We are looking for a Mechanical Project Coordinator to work with our Engineering team to carry out specific tasks that are vital to the production, sales and engineering departments. Essential Functions Daily job responsibilities/functions to include, but not limited to: • Design brackets and/or assemblies for new products and product changes. • Use software tools or applications to analyze and create drawings, or systems and document in comparison with design criteria. • Gather product information and read design specifications. • Work with customers, engineers and other departments to communicate needs and help with processes throughout the company. • Help create processes and manuals that will aid in operations, features, and maintenance. • Create Bills of Material so they can be entered into our MRP software system. • Update files and maintain consistency with engineering records and part drawings. • Communicate with suppliers to obtain quotes and process orders. • Meets agreed upon goals and objectives in a timely manner. • Interact with organizational team members and other departments in a professional manner. • Performs other duties as assigned by management. Qualifications • 5+ years of professional experience in mechanical systems design, construction, operations, and maintenance • A highly organized, efficient, and process improvement mindset and skillset • A person that shows commitment and engagement through a strong work ethic, initiative, and utilization of abilities. • Someone able and willing to dive in and help solve problems • Someone with a strong desire to work in a heavy industrial environment • Good research skills and attention to detail. • Strong strategic thinking, problem-solving, and decision-making skills. • Excellent Microsoft Office skills, specifically, Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint. • A multi-tasker who can tackle multiple projects at the same time. • Help the team in the development of conceptual design changes to mechanical systems for improved reliability and efficiency • Provide technical due diligence review and evaluation for the electrical selection process • Develop strong industry relationships with other peers and organizations to remain current on industry trends and future directions • Experience with some electrical equipment, including both AC and DC circuits. • Experience working in the Power Generation Industry. • Knowledge of industry standards, building codes and safety standards including NEC, ANSI, IEEE, NFPA, and UL. • Proven troubleshooting and analytical skills • Strong written and verbal communication skills. • Experience with AutoCAD/SolidWorks is a must. Other software is a plus. • Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-pressure work environment. • Team player with positive attitude and desire to learn. Ability to design castings, weldments, and precision machined parts and assemblies. Experience designing with GD&T. Ability to use ERP system, preferably JD Edwards. Skilled with Microsoft Office Suite. Ability to translate concepts into buildable models and designs. Ability to develop detailed drawings and bills of materials for parts and assemblies. EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE 4 year degree in Mechanical Engineering from an ABET accredited college or university. Proficient with 3D modeling software – preferably SolidWorks. Possess a general knowledge of component fitments as well as GD&T. Review of product includes: • Assurance of adherence to codes and requirements for fuel tanks, enclosures, and stairs (UL, NFPA, OSHA, IBC). • Assurance of adherence to codes and requirements specific to job location. • Assurance of design to meet air flow requirements needed for generator performance. • Assurance of design to meet sound reduction requirements needed for designated job location and use. • Assurance of design to meet structural requirements for impact, wind load, roof load, and support of any products or additional accessories used in conjunction with product developed by Fidelity Manufacturing. • Assurance of design to meet lifting requirements needed for installation of product (yield stresses, center of gravity, weight distribution). • Maintain consistency with engineering records and component or system drawings. • Provide engineering support to other engineering departments and other departments of Fidelity Manufacturing in a professional manner. Qualifications • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering – Professional Engineer license is a plus, management experience is a plus. • 10+ years of hands-on work experience within manufacturing environment and Power Generation industry. • Application experience with fuel tanks, fuel pumps, enclosures, and exhaust systems. • Component design experience with welded manifold systems, sheet metal brackets, and general tolerances and fits of parts within an assembly.
