We have a Global team with a singular mission, to make our clients projects happen. Claxton is looking to add an experienced, solution driven, Mechanical Engineer to the team. As a Mechanical Engineer, reporting to both the local site and remote Engineering Manager, you are responsible for the provision of design engineering services and expertise to both internal and external clients. This includes creating designs, calculations, FEA, drawings and control of the design elements of project work. The successful candidate will be in the Houma/Thibodaux area. Duties • Create and check designs and provide design verification services (FEA, hand calculations) in support of key projects • Create and check designs and drawings for manufacture, client review, quotation, in-house marketing, etc as required • Manage and control the design elements of projects alongside Project Engineers and other team members • Provide design-related input into kick-off, design review, project planning and other meetings • Control the design process and ensure all necessary requirements have been met in line with Claxton’s Internal Management System • Provide details of the inspection and quality requirements of designs • Support design validation testing and commissioning activities on and offshore • Maintain electronic media and hardware in an appropriate manner • Check engineering output produced by other team members and provide support to team members as required • Modify designs, documents, and drawings in accordance with Claxton’s internal procedures • Highlight and resolve any design issues following verification calculations and analysis • Perform hand calculations and FEA to verify equipment design • Check calculations, FEA and various engineering documents produced by other members of the team • Conduct and document design review meetings and closeout actions • Generate FDS (functional design specification) and TS (technical specification) and other documents for projects and products per the client's requirement • Input and manage the design elements of projects including design output, manufacture, QA, 3rd party verification/validation with respect to the technical, timeframe and commercial considerations • Input to departmental processes and contribute towards new or improved processes as necessary • Direct and mentor less experienced personnel as required during project or product design activities • Provide support to field operation and site integration tests for the new product/project as required • CTX/CTR preparation in support of proposals and internal product development and sustaining activities Required • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline • Minimum 3 years’ experience working in the mechanical engineering environment • Able to use SolidWorks to create detailed models & drawings in support of projects and products • Use of Mathcad to verify designs by hand calculations • Use of SolidWorks/ Ansys or equivalent to perform FEA to verify equipment design • Good working knowledge of Microsoft products (Word, Excel, Outlook, Windows, PowerPoint etc.) • Familiar with the principles of design control • Familiar with standards and specifications relevant to the Oil and Gas industry • Good commercial awareness • Working to designated standards and material selection • Experience with modelling and drafting using SolidWorks • Familiar with AutoCAD 2D drafting • Good written and verbal communication skills • Able to deal with clients (internal and external) • Able to work to tight deadlines and to budget • Able to manage design elements of projects • Able to mentor other less experienced team members and also personnel across the business • Able to work on own initiative and driven to develop own skills • Excellent team player with flexible attitude, and drive and enthusiasm Location Houma Work Country USA

Mechanic - Offshore

Overview / Responsibilities Wood is searching for a Mechanic with extensive offshore experience in the oil and gas industry on a production platform. Work schedule of 14x14 with a work terminal out of either Abbeville, Houma or Santa Fe. Authorization to work lawfully in the US without sponsorship from Wood is required. • Operates, tests, maintains, repairs and record keep required data on all safety shutdown systems and devices in accordance with BSEE regulations and approved facility permit safe chart. This includes such devices as control valves, actuators, sensors, pilots, pressures, and temperature or level controllers. In addition, must maintain facility safety equipment, which includes firefighting equipment, emergency supplies, survival capsules, navigational aids, and alarm systems in accordance with BSEE and USCG regulations. • Operation and maintenance of all rotating equipment such as compressors, generators, platform cranes, pumps, winches, etc. in accordance with the manufacturer's recommendations. • Monitor control panels, shutdown devices, liquid levels, flow rates, temperatures, etc. to keep them within the designed operating range. • Repairs and maintains, in accordance with diagrams, sketches, operation manuals, and manufacturer's specifications, machinery and mechanical equipment, such as generators, turbines, engines, motors, pneumatic tools, conveyor systems, and production machines and equipment, using hand tools, power tools, and precision measuring and testing instruments. • Observes mechanical devices in operation and listens to their sounds to locate causes of trouble. • Maintains documentation (records), as required, on all work performed by loading these records into work management software program. • Repair and replace seals and properly align shafts in various types of pumps including, but not limited to, centrifugal, water, chemical or crude oil pumps; submersible pumps and injection pumps. • Check and set mechanical clearances to comply with OEM specified tolerances using dial test indicators, feeler gauges micrometers, calipers, strain gauges, deflection gauge, etc... • Perform all preventative maintenance in accordance with applicable company procedures. • Record all maintained data in proper logs or maintenance records. • Monitor operating parameters on equipment; make adjustments, report unusual conditions to platform supervisor. • Additional duties per Supervisor. Skills / Qualifications Required: High school diploma or general education degree (GED); 3-5 years offshore mechanic experience on a production platform required; Must have experience working on production platform equipment as well as turbine experience. Preferred: Associate's degree (AA) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; ; 5-8 years offshore experience on a production platform preferred. Solar Turbine and CAT C15 diesel generator experience preferred. The Engineer Level 3 is responsible for maintaining guestrooms, public space, and back of the house areas and keeping them in good repair by performing various tasks related to a variety of trades including, but not limited to, carpentry, plumbing, electrical, air conditioning, painting, wallcovering, and masonry, to ensure an attractive and well-maintained hotel.
