Job Title: Tooling Design Engineer Job Description We are seeking a talented Tooling Design Engineer to join our team, specializing in the design and testing of paper plate and tray thermoforming tooling. Responsibilities • Perform detailed tooling and die design and documentation using Autodesk Inventor. • Conduct geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T) for tooling designs. • Create, update, and maintain forming die and cutting die bills of materials. • Provide technical support to manufacturing and assembly teams. • Participate in and conduct internal design reviews. • Effectively communicate design and project information with manufacturing groups. Essential Skills • 2-5 years of mechanical design experience with steel products, with a strong preference for mold or die design. • Solid understanding of complex geometry and surfacing design, particularly geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T). • Minimum of 2 years of experience with Autodesk Inventor, Solidworks, or Solidedge. Additional Skills & Qualifications • Experience with creating and managing bills of materials (BOM). • 2-5 years of experience in tooling, die, or fixture design. • Familiarity with ERP/MRP systems. • Strong customer-facing skills and effective communication abilities. Work Environment This role involves working in a machine build shop and office environment that is clean and well-lit. The position requires comfortable interaction with the shop floor and effective communication with panel builders. The work distribution is approximately 80% office-based and 20% on the shop floor.
