Locomotive, Freight Car & MOW Mechanics Job Description: • Understand mechanical operations of machinery • Troubleshoot, repair and maintain heavy off-track equipment and roadway machinery • Ensure compliance with all railroad rules and regulations for safety, operations and the Federal Railroad Administration (FRA) • Troubleshoot and perform heavy repairs to all types of equipment components including gas and diesel engines, transmissions and differentials, hydraulic pumps, motors, cylinders, valves, various workheads, booms, electrical systems and conveyor belt systems • Solve work related problems, make decisions, and provide instructions • Getting information – observing, receiving, and otherwise obtaining information from all relevant sources requiring close attention to detail • Communicating with supervisors, peers, or subordinates – providing information to supervisors, co-workers, and subordinates by telephone, in written form, e-mail, or in person requiring close attention to detail • Lubricate machines, change oil, or fill hydraulic reservoirs to specified levels Basic Qualifications: • 18 year of age or older • Valid Driver’s License • Strict adherence to corporate values • Must be able to read, write, comprehend, and communicate (speak, hear, and understand) English • Must be able to follow written and oral directions • Communication Skills (provide clear instructions/directions) • Reasoning Skills (problem solving and troubleshooting skills) • Read and understand schematic drawings • Basic knowledge of hydraulic systems, electrical and electronic systems, and pneumatic systems as it pertains to the operation and maintenance of roadway machinery • Must be able to work outdoors in all weather conditions, including inclement and extreme temperatures • Must be able to work on and around heavy equipment • Comply with all company and FRA safety procedures, policies, and rules, including wearing required safety equipment Physical and Mental Demands: • Must be able to lift and carry up to 75 pounds occasionally and up to 100 lbs. on a rare basis • Must be able to walk, stand, bend, stoop, crouch, climb, kneel, stretch, balance, and sit for extended periods of time • Demonstrate auditory and visual acuity/tracking/inspection • Must be able to stand for long periods of time • Must be able to operate tools and equipment safely and efficiently • Must be able to use hands to hold, grasp, turn or pull • Must be able to reach over shoulder level • Must be able to work with loud noises, chemicals, fumes, dirt, and dust • Must be able to use phone and radios • Must be able to perform heavy manual labor Safety Commitment: Safety is a very important part of this company and its operations. Mechanical Engineer

We are currently seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer to join the Machine Building team. You will be working alongside hot runner experts, focused on developing new technologies required to optimize injection molding systems, break out into new markets, and shape the future of sustainable high-volume manufacturing. Sheet Metal Installer III / Foreman

The Sheet Metal Installer III & Foreman is responsible for planning new HVAC duct installations at construction sites and contributing knowledge to the submittal process. This role is responsible for quality installations, inspecting the work of others, and able to apply expertise to solve complex problems. This position partners with Project Managers, other departments, and Foremen to ensure successful project completion. The individual may lead a small team as part of a large company project and/or may act as the primary lead for Sheet Metal for small, short-term project. The ideal candidate is a role model for others and has a safety-first mindset. Requirements+ • Reads and interprets complex architecture drawings, 3D blueprints, and ceiling drawings. Shares in-depth knowledge of submittals and specifications with others. • Consults with Project Managers, Foremen, and other departments to plan installations prior to job kick off meetings. • Responsible for job site measurements, ordering materials, proactively submitting order sheets to the Fabrication team, and working with Foremen to communicate with local teams. Ensures lead times are provided to allow for material ordering, fabrication, and to allow deliveries to be planned. • Leads and organizes teams for specific jobs and systems to be accomplished in a scheduled manner for efficiency of projects. Motivates others and delegates work to ensure job tasks are completed. • Troubleshoots and resolves complex issues associated with sheet metal installation or job tasks. • Installs sheet metal duct using hand tools, cutting equipment, and appropriate safety equipment. Ensures hangers, duct, and duct supports are installed to SMACNA standards. Responsible for inspecting the work of others and training new members of the team. • Plans work out week by week for assigned jobs and shares staffing requirements with the Lead Foreman or Department Manager. Understands and is responsible to keep a job site productive and profitable. • Always follows safety policies and wears the appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) for each job task. • Ensures assigned tools and equipment are properly maintained following preventive maintenance guidelines. • As part of the Sheet Metal team, this individual is responsible for maintaining a clean, safe, and organized work environment. • Performs other duties as assigned. Qualifications • High school diploma or GED diploma and 5+ years related experience or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience. NCCER training in Sheet Metal preferred. • In-depth knowledge of SMACNA standards. • OSHA 10 certification required, OSHA 30 certification a plus. • Valid driver's license required and able to travel to VT, NY, NH, and Canada. • Strong communication skills and ability to train others. • Ability to complete sheet metal projects with accuracy and precision. • Ability to read blueprints and schematics to understand product assignment. • Ability to communicate with multiple stakeholders, work independently, learn technical tasks, be part of a team, solve problems, safely operate hand tools, and complete assigned tasks with quality. • Have and own personal hand tools required for sheet metal trade. • Ability to work flexible hours and overtime as required, typically this position works Monday to Friday 7:00AM to 3:30PM Physical Demands & Work Environment • Ability to frequently lift minimum of 75 pounds and stand throughout shift. • Ability to occasionally carry, lift, and hold up to 100 pounds. • Ability to frequently climb up and down and work at height. This includes climbing multiple flights of stairs, ladders (6ft to 14ft), and working from extension ladders. • Some repetitive motion required. • The typical work environment is a construction site setting.
