Engineer - Mechanical Component

Job Description Summary Mechanical Component Engineers will contribute to a team responsible for new reactor/equipment development and existing fleet support. Mechanical Component Engineers create and develop design concepts, provide procurement support, and generate drawings, CAD models, specifications, and design basis documentation as required. The Mechanical Component Engineer will operate in a matrixed engineering team to ensure high quality deliverables in accordance with customer requirements, business procedures and regulatory agency guidelines (ASME, NRC, CSA, and others). Job Description Essential Responsibilities • Perform component design related work as governed by ASME Section III codes and standards. • Prepare drawings, specifications, and detailed design basis documentation for Nuclear component designs. • Interface with project managers, project engineers, procurement, and other business functions and partners as needed. • Understand component material selection & fabrication processes to address supplier non-conformances & emergent issues as needed. • Perform independent verification of design work ensuring strict procedure adherence. • Work closely with sourcing and manufacturing to support cost reduction activities. • Interface and collaborate effectively with internal engineering teams and external suppliers. • Develop procedures and identify opportunities to improve engineering productivity. • Work with technical leader to establish an effective work plan, including time estimates, schedule estimates, requirements, and work processes. Required Qualifications • Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering or other related engineering field. • This job will be located at our headquarters in Wilmington NC. (Relocation assistance provided) • This role requires access to U.S. export-controlled information. If applicable, final offers will be contingent on ability to obtain authorization for access to U. Desired Characteristics • Nuclear Industry knowledge/experience. • Demonstrated problem solving ability and ability to perform complex engineering analyses resulting in thorough and complete documentation. • Experience performing component design work to ASME Section III standards. • BWR/PWR reactor/equipment design experience. • Strong communication skills and capable of clearly articulating specific technical topics or assignments. • Knowledge of mechanical engineering principles, vibration analysis, heat transfer, Finite Element Analysis, statistics and drafting practices (including geometric dimensioning and tolerancing, and CAD). • Ability to work effectively within a highly collaborative environment. • A self-starter willing to take initiative. The base pay range for this position is $70,000 to $101,000. The specific pay offered may be influenced by a variety of factors, including the candidate's experience, education, and skill set. This position is also eligible for bonuses, such as a performance bonus/variable incentive compensation/equity. This position is expected to close on Wednesday, August 13th. The company pays a geographic differential of 110%, 120%, or 130% of salary in certain areas. Mechanical Technician III - Contract

Job Title: Mechanical Technician III Location: Wilmington, NC Duration: 06+ Months Project Technician Role: Mechanical • Perform hands-on installation support for new or modified production equipment. • Provide mechanical discipline support in the construction, installation, debug, troubleshooting and startup of equipment and automated systems including hands-on to the point of turnover to operations at both domestic and international manufacturing sites; majority of time be spent on the floor working on equipment. • Supervise and provide direction to internal maintenance, and outside contract trades during all aspects of equipment installation and conversion such as demolition, construction, installation, testing, and debug of production equipment. Required Education/Skills: Mechanical • AAS Mechanical Engineering Technology, BS Mechanical Engineering Technology, BS Mechanical Engineering (Equivalent work experience may be considered in rare circumstances.) • Ability to work hands-on with the equipment using typical hand tools, instruments, and measurement/alignment devices. • Strong focus on job site safety and proactive safety approach. • Process variable understanding: flow, temperature, rate, pressure, level • Determines and recommends best solution from a series of alternatives within plant guidelines. • Interpreting drawings and schematics to aid in troubleshooting. • Familiar with process piping system design, including P&IDs • Thorough understanding of mechanical drive trains, electrical and pneumatic actuators. • Works well in a team environment, is a self-starter and results oriented & effective in various settings to provide and present necessary information to project, department, and site leaders.
