job summary: A Mechanical Technician is needed for a manufacturing company considered one of the world's leading innovators in materials science in the Wilmington, NC area. This hands-on mechanical project technician role supports the full lifecycle of equipment installation and startup on manufacturing floors by supervising trades, executing mechanical modifications, troubleshooting, and ensuring safety and compliance. location: Wilmington, North Carolina job type: Contract salary: $19.50 - 30.71 per hour work hours: 8am to 5pm education: Associates responsibilities: • Ensure project goals are met without compromising safety, intellectual property, or quality. • Drive safety practices by ensuring training, hazard identification, and incident reporting. • Interface with system integrators and machine builders to deliver integrated process systems on time and within budget. • Redline and revise installation documents, part lists, machine specifications, and complete drawing packages. • Train internal and external staff on equipment installation procedures. • Troubleshoot and replace defective components as needed to solve process issues. • Procure and expedite materials needed for equipment modifications or installations. Desired Skills: • AutoCAD®, Inventor, MS Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams), and MS Project. • Knowledge of laser alignment devices, Fluke meters, precision flow meters, and calibration equipment. • Familiarity with Optical Fiber manufacturing is a plus. • strong communication, problem-solving, and presentation skills. • Proactive, safety-focused, and results-oriented team player. Primary Responsibilities HDR is looking for a highly motivated Senior Mechanical Engineer with a strong work ethic. Our Power Generation and Renewable department in the Southeast is growing rapidly and this is an opportunity to join on the front end and become a key team member with endless potential for career growth. The Senior Mechanical Engineer will be a key member of HDR’s rapidly growing engineering team and will provide day-to-day execution of mechanical engineering and design deliverables for power generating facilities, primarily simple cycle, combined cycle, PV solar, battery energy storage and microgrid. On a day-to-day basis, it is expected that they will: • Lead, manage, and coordinate the work of the design team through the schematic design development and contract document phase of a project. • Lead, manage, mentor, and develop less experienced engineers and designers. • Manage and coordinate workload to complete deliverables on schedule. • Conduct field visits at project sites in conjunction with Project Managers and other disciplines. • Perform high complexity engineering designs including analysis, calculations, research, and equipment selection. • Develop mechanical piping and instrument diagrams (P&IDs) for power plant systems including steam cycles, boiler feed, condensate, water treatment, flue gas, hydrogen, fuel handling, heat transfer systems, and utility systems. • Prepare sizing calculations and specifications for major equipment including, but not limited to, boilers, condensers, cooling towers, tanks, blowers and pumps. • Prepare mechanical engineering designs, equipment lists, general arrangements, aux power demands, and process flow diagrams (PFDs). • Check design deliverables in accordance with industry codes and standards, contract requirements and company standards. • Prepare requisite mechanical documentation for construction. • Assist in the development of schedules, work assignments, and staffing requirements to ensure successful project completion. • Provide technical mentoring and/or oversight. • Balance multiple engineering tasks concurrently. • Testing and commissioning plans. • Review engineering work deliverables following HDR Quality Process. • Lead project teams and provide status updates as needed. • Maintain good relationships with peers, client organizations, vendor representatives and sub-consultants. • Identify and develop new strategic relationships that will support winning and executing assignments for the Power Generation and Renewable team and other groups within HDR. • Travel occasionally as required. Preferred Qualifications • Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or similar • Previous supervisory experience • Previous proposal development and client management experience • A minimum of 7 years’ experience in project execution with the Power or Heavy Industrial Market Sectors • Engineering experience in the following areas: design experience for simple/combined cycle gas turbines, renewables, coal and hydroelectric • Mechanical powerhouse and balance of plant controls and power systems • Knowledge of large-scale power generation mechanical systems • Prior experience in a consulting engineering environment is highly desirable • Produce design drawings including one-lines, three-lines, schematics, general arrangements, and bill of materials • Experience developing proposals and estimates for Power Generation and Renewable projects • Possess excellent written and verbal communication skills • Local candidates are preferred Required Qualifications • Bachelor's degree in Engineering • A minimum of 10 years of experience • Professional Engineers (PE or P.Eng) license • Extensive experience in project execution within the Power Market Sector • Proficient computer skills in Microsoft Office as well as standard Power Market Sector design software (examples include PLS CAD, AutoCAD, Plant 3D, AutoPipe, and Revit) • An attitude and commitment to being an active participant of our employee-owned culture What We Believe HDR is our company. Maintenance A - Mechanical & Electrical

Job Description Summary • 3rd Shift* Maintenance A – Mechanical & Electrical perform a wide variety of complicated maintenance work, involving setup, installation, alteration, repair or rearrangement of machines, facilities, or equipment and their related controls. Will work a substantial portion of the time in the electric and mechanical skill or trade. Will be required to perform maintenance work other than own specialty. Typical working schedule is Sunday – Friday: 11PM-7AM. Other hours and overtime may be necessary at times to support business need. The starting pay for this position will be $33.70/hour progressing to $38.23/hour after 6 months of satisfactory performance. While working the off-shift, you will receive an additional night-shift adder of $1, this transitions to 10% after 5 years of service. Job Description Roles and Responsibilities Duties include, but are not limited to: • Responsible for setting up, maintaining, altering, installing, repairing or rearranging complex equipment or machines and their related controls. Will diagnose equipment malfunctions and perform corrections with minimum of supervision. • Required to tear down, overhaul, and reassemble intricate mechanisms, machines, apparatus, etc. involving complex mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic and lubricating systems. • Responsible for providing mechanical or electrical service on various types of machines or equipment. • Required to service and repair various systems and components for chemical or caustic equipment such as tanks, piping, sumps, etc. • Responsible for performing repair or preventative maintenance on a variety of equipment • Required to work with 480 voltage and below. This includes the changing of motors, contactors, overloads, motor starters, relays, 277v lighting and more. • Installs, repairs or services such facility or production systems and their related controls as water, sanitary, generators, compressors, chemicals, compressed air, gas, steam, plumbing, and waste treatment. • Responsible for performing the most difficult repairing, installing or adjusting of the above machines or equipment, and performing work outside his specialty under the direction of supervision or higher rated personnel. • Required to operate machines and equipment to check the work performed and demonstrate satisfactory operating condition. Required to co-ordinate re-start of equipment with knowledgeable, trained operators to insure satisfactory operation after repairs. • Responsible for operating various types of moving equipment used in installation and repair work, such as fork lift trucks, platform lift trucks, mobile crane, hoists, etc. • Must be able to perform other maintenance services besides own specialty. • Performs duties and tasks conforming to all safety regulations and procedures. Keeps facilities, materials and work areas clean and orderly, exercising good housekeeping practices. • Responsible for operating and maintaining equipment under specific plant permits and other regulations such as NPDES, DWQ, NRC, Etc. Activities would include correct documentation and follow up to insure compliance. • Required to use a shop work order system, including logging time, entering failure notes and any pertinent information into the work order comments. • Must be able to work with minimal supervision and make independent sound process judgments. • Responsible for continuous adherence to all areas of industrial, radiation, and criticality safety regulations and requirements. • Interact with team leaders, maintenance coordinators, production advisors and other personnel to ensure setup and maintenance activities are consistent with production priorities. Assists operators in troubleshooting process equipment issues. • Required to read and interpret technical prints and/or effectively understand and follow oral instructions. • Other relevant duties as assigned Minimum Qualifications • High school graduate (or GED); or formal training in HVAC preferred but equivalent experience will be considered. • Minimum of two (2) years' experience of reading and interpreting complex mechanical and electrical drawings, sketches, and schematics (P&ID). • Minimum of three(3) years of experience in electrical and mechanical fields of maintenance work • Minimum of two (2) years of experience with voltage levels up to 480v. • Minimum of two (2) years of experience with basic computer skills, including ability to complete maintenance documentation, communication via email, access and retrieve information from the Internet, etc. • Must have minimum of two (2) years of proficient experience in operating at least two (2) of the following types of machine equipment: milling machines, drill, or punch presses (for metal fabrication), grinders (for metal fabrication), saws (for metal fabrication), shears, lathes, deburr/edge contouring machines, welding fabrication. • Minimum of three (3) years of experience with at least two of the following gauges: micrometers, vernier scales and calipers, and dial indicators. • Minimum of two (2) years of experience with each of the following: (a) troubleshooting mechanical and/or hydraulic systems; (b) troubleshooting and servicing control circuits; (c) industrial wiring; (d) 3-phase systems. • Minimum of two (2) years of experience with: (a) troubleshooting mechanical and/or hydraulic/pneumatic systems; (b) precision coupling and shaft alignment; (c) precision fitting; • Minimum of two (2) years of experience with manual welding. Eligibility Requirements • Must be able to perform mechanical measurements and visual inspections, as required. • Must be proficient with basic math (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division) and Shop Math, including decimals and fractions. • Required to work shift work in accordance with business needs. Will be expected to respond to scheduled overtime, hold over, or emergency call-in as required. May require employee wear a pager or cell phone. • Must be able to operate forklifts and/or cranes to handle heavy materials. A formal certification is preferred. • Must be physically able to manually lift of up to 50 lbs.
