Job Overview: Maintenance Technician I plays a pivotal role in ensuring the seamless operation of engineering processes within a lodging facility. Key responsibilities include overseeing project management, general life safety, vendor coordination, and performing preventative maintenance and repairs across hotel guestrooms, public spaces, equipment, buildings & grounds. Duties: • Conduct regular maintenance on tools and kitchen/mechanical room equipment, encompassing cleaning and lubrication to guarantee optimal functionality. • Identify, locate, and operate all shut-off valves for equipment and utility shut-offs for buildings to ensure safe working conditions. • Test, troubleshoot and perform basic repair on various equipment, plumbing (e.g., plunge toilets and unclog drains), electrical components including lamps, cosmetic items, extension cords, vacuum cleaners, internet devices, replace electrical switches and outlets, and other guestroom items. • Communicate daily activities and problems to other shifts through approved communication programs and standards. • Maintain work efficiency while adhering to safety standards and effective equipment utilization to minimize downtime. • Maintain current knowledge of departmental safety procedures. Participate in safety-training programs and in-service as required for continued development. • Document necessary service records on mechanical and structural systems. • Ensure adherence to standard operating procedures for park operation, employee relations, timekeeping, and safety, including completion of daily, weekly, and monthly documentation. • Other duties as deemed appropriate by the Assistant Director of Engineering. Qualifications: • Technical Degree • Technical Training • Trade Related Certifications • Hospitality, Healthcare or related industry experience • Trade related certifications preferred in HVAC and/or Electrical • Ability to move, lift, carry, push, pull, and place objects weighing less than or equal to 50 pounds without assistance and heavier lifting or movement tasks with assistance.
