Highlights of our Manufacturing Engineer Role: Hands on involvement to develop, evaluate, and improve manufacturing methods. Diesel Service Technician/Mechanic

Tri-County Equipment (John Deere) has a full time opening for experienced service technicians in our Baker City location. Applicants must have 2-3 years experience working as a mechanic. Agricultural back-ground is preferred. Those hired should have a willingness to learn, participate in on-going training and be self motivated. Must be able and willing to work on a few weekends and after hours during harvest times. Pay is competitive and benefit package exceptional. Purpose Independently perform complex diagnostics, service repairs and maintenance work on customer and/or dealer-owned agricultural, turf, and other equipment to maintain customer satisfaction for internal and external customer. Responsibilities ● Performs diagnostics and repairs on John Deere and other brands of equipment and technology as directed by Service Manager, Service Location Manager, or Shop Foreman ● Mentors Service Technician Trainees and Service Technicians as experience allows ● Performs diagnostics and repairs in the shop or field as required ● Accountable for billable time and assigned work orders ● Responsible for complete and thorough documentation of diagnostics and repairs performed on work orders and on time submittal of information ● May participate in Service Training programs required for the development of skills and knowledge ● Operates and maintains vehicles, tools, and equipment required to perform job responsibilities ● Maintains a clean work area and performs work in a neat and orderly fashion ● Follows all safety rules and regulations in performing work assignments ● Maintains current knowledge of John Deere and competitive products ● Completes any other tasks that may be assigned. Experience, Education, Skills and Knowledge ● Experience performing Ag equipment repairs; demonstrated experience meeting performance metrics is preferred ● Experience performing repairs and maintenance using special tools and equipment following common procedures on machines of the Technician’s specialty ● Experience with the mechanical, electrical and hydraulic systems used in off road, construction, lawn, or heavy equipment ● Experience operating vehicles, tools, and equipment for diagnostic purposes ● Experience with basic computer functions; experience using Service ADVISOR™ or other computer based diagnostic repair tools preferred ● Experience working cooperatively in a team environment ● Experience communicating effectively, both verbally and in writing ● Must have an adequate toolset to perform job responsibilities ● High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent experience required; Associates degree preferred Valid driver’s license required Must be able to pass a pre-employment background and drug screen Apply at Tri-County Equipment.
