Danieli is looking for Mechanical Maintenance Technician to work in Apple Grove, West Virginia. The Mechanical Maintenance Technician is to inspect, repair, and make welding repairs as necessary, replace, install, adjust, and maintain all mechanical equipment, including hydraulic equipment, in a producing unit assembly or assigned areas. The Mechanical Maintenance Technician reports hierarchically to the Workshop Shift Leader. Responsibilities The Mechanical Maintenance Technician preforms a wide range of tasks to ensure machinery and equipment are properly assembled, setup, and ready for operation. Some of the main tasks include: • Rotating Shift • Must be able to demonstrate the ability to initiate, lead, and uphold safety policies, practices, procedures, and housekeeping standards as always • Effectively and efficiently dismantles, cleans, repairs (welding repairs when necessary), replaces, installs, maintains, assembles hydraulic equipment, and lubricates mechanical equipment etc. • Adjusts equipment for proper operating gears, bearing, and shafts involving the application of press, sliding, and running fits. Operates simple machine tools, such as drill press, pipe-threading machine, power saw, etc. • Performs all mechanical repairs as required on cranes and mobile equipment • Lays out, installs, maintains, and repairs all types of pipelines, fittings, fixtures, and pressure systems as required • Repair leaks in hydraulic systems. Removes and installs complete operating components, such as cylinders, oil motors, four-way valves, check valves, etc., and makes necessary repairs to same • Changes, sets up, and adjusts equipment as required by the operation conditions • Utilizes all required computer systems for planning, executing, and reporting • Certification in fork truck, various overhead cranes, man-lifts (scissor lifts) and other mobile equipment as required in maintenance activities (preferred) • Utilizes mechanical and electronic diagnostic equipment, computer equipment, and/ or a variety of precision instruments as necessary • Preforms other duties and work assignments as required and directed Technical Requirements • High School Diploma or equivalent technical training • At least (3+) years’ experience in a steelmaking plant with arc furnace, casting, or rolling maintenance experience • Knowledge of mechanical equipment with the ability to read and understand hydraulic and mechanical drawings as well as P&ID’s • Intermediate Microsoft Office skills • Skilled in the use of tools, machines and testing instruments used in the repair and overhaul of steelmaking plant equipment • Willing to initially travel in the first year; 70% domestically and internationally for training and customer sites Other This policy applies to all terms and conditions of employment, including recruiting, hiring, placement, promotion, termination, layoff, recall, transfer, leaves of absence, compensation and training.
