Nature of Position: Federal Pacific Transformer (FPT) provides low voltage and medium voltage transformers and electrical switchgear for a variety of industrial and commercial applications. In addition, FPT provides special design and manufacturing services for mining applications. All production, marketing, and manufacturing for FPT products is consolidated at the Bristol Virginia location. Sales of FPT products are handled by a variety of manufacturing representatives with both domestic and international locations. FPT provides high quality products at a competitive price. FPT operates in a highly competitive environment requiring the close management of costs at all levels of the organization. Relationships: This position has external contact with vendors and capital equipment suppliers on a variety of cost improvement ideas. Internal contact will include associates in all departments on waste reduction and process improvement. Travel: Minimal travel Background: The ideal candidate will have at least 10 years of hands-on maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment, with a strong emphasis on process improvement and continuous improvement practices. A minimum of 5 years in a maintenance management or team leadership role is strongly preferred. While a bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering or a related field is not required, it is considered a plus. Candidates with technical school education, PLC training, and experience with automation or robotics will be given strong consideration.
