The candidate should: • Select and install tooling according to specifications and operation. • Extensive use of blueprints, process plans, program sheets, holding fixture location diagrams, etc. to set-up and prepare machine for operation. • Use precision measuring instruments to setup machine and check machined items. • Make programming or tooling adjustments. • Load work program. • Load and unload parts in machine • Run jobs and obtain first piece approval. • Have experience machining tight tolerance, high-value components. • Have extensive experience with Okuma, Fanuc, and other CNC controls. • Have excellent oral and written communication skills and ability to communicate across multiple disciplines with internal and external customers. • Be willing and able to perform other tasks as directed by Supervision/Management including but not limited to assisting non-production plant and administrative tasks. Preferred: • Surface Grinding Experience • Experience with nickel-based stainless-steel alloys, copper, aluminum, stainless steel, Hast-X and inconel. • Experience in Aerospace and Defense products and materials. • Outside processing knowledge (heat treat, plating, coating, EDM, grinding, etc.) • Experience operating heavy lifting equipment such as cranes and forklifts around flight critical hardware. • Ability to work effectively with a strong work ethic and close attention to detail in a fast-paced dynamic team environment with rapidly changing roles and responsibilities. Position Summary: The Machinist at our Concord, NC site is responsible for setting up and operating CNC machines, machining centers, and manual equipment to fabricate or repair mechanical components and assemblies. The machinist must also be capable of programming CNC equipment to meet precise specifications. Precision measuring tools are used to ensure all finished parts meet customer specifications.
