The CNC Machinist will be responsible for operating and maintaining CNC horizontal milling machines, setting up machinery, and ensuring machine efficiency. Key Job Elements First Shift Duties and Responsibilities: • Operates various CNC machines as part of the production process to produce parts for the large mining & locomotive industry in accordance with customer specifications, company guidelines and checklists. Perform all duties and responsibilities in compliance with PR safety policies; • Operate CNC machines including horizontal mills, engine lathes, and manual grinders to produce finished machine components; • Use precision gauges and instruments such as micrometers to determine and follow customers specifications; • Maintain specifications by observing, drilling, grooving and cutting, including turning, milling, facing, knurling and thread chasing operations; taking measurements; detecting malfunctions; troubleshooting processes; adjusting and reprogramming controls; sharpening and replacing worn tools; adhering to quality assurance procedures and processes; • Operate overhead cranes and forklifts; • Other duties as assigned; • Perform all duties and responsibilities within time standards allowed.
