POSITION CUTTING MACHINE OPERATOR JOB SUMMARY The Cutting Machine Operator is an integral part of the manufacturing production line. The Cutting Machine Operator will be trained with the technical knowledge and have the ability to communicate the technical information required to perform as an operator in the Cutting department. RESPONSIBILITIES • Support, report to, and be directed by the Cutting Manager. • Operate production machines and equipment within efficiency standards. • Handle and organize raw materials for cutting processes according to department systems. • Organize, mark, and kit cut components to prepare products for sewing. • Perform basic assembly tasks. • Maintain in-line quality control of raw materials and takes appropriate action to maintain accuracy and precision with the highest degree of proficiency. • Able to identify components and workings of cutting machines. • Able to read and interpret technical packets, written processes, standard operating procedures, and follow instructions. • Able to perform basic troubleshooting and maintenance on machines and identify the need for external services when needed. • Utilize various cutting machines, fixtures, and tooling to perform cutting functions to a high degree of proficiency. • Maintain clean and organized workspace according to company standards. • Perform all other duties reasonably related to the Company’s business when asked to do so by the Company’s executive team. REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS • Full-time, on-site position. • Strong attention to detail. • Ability to read and interpret technical documents and instructions. • Excellent organizational skills to maintain a clean workspace. • Effective communication skills to report findings and follow directions. • May be required to work overtime and/or extended hours depending on business needs. • Physical requirements may include sitting, standing, walking, lifting up to 50 pounds, bending, and kneeling for up to and including 8 hours. • Vision to view printed and electronic text and graphics. • Ability to access information on computers, tablets, and electronics. • Ability to handle and manipulate items with hands and/or fingers up to and including 8 hours. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS • Prior production or manufacturing experience. • Prior experience utilizing ERP or MRP software, such as Microsoft Dynamics. Responsibilities • Uses precision measuring and testing instruments to ensure machine accuracy. • Install, service, troubleshoot, and repair all types of machine control components including, but not limited to, motor drives, controllers, sensors, switches, breakers, overloads, power supplies, etc. • Locate root cause of problems by using sound troubleshooting methods to ensure that permanent repairs can be made to minimize costly downtime. • Install, service, troubleshoot, and repair all types of power transmission components including, but not limited to, drives, bearings, gears, belts, chains, sprockets, etc. • Install, service, troubleshoot, and repair hydraulic systems including, but not limited to tanks, pumps, valves, piping, cylinders, and controls. • Perform installation, service, and repairs to buildings, facilities, and grounds including, doors, windows, guard rails and fencing, air handling, air compressors and exhaust units, etc. • Provide proper record keeping, documentation, and information for, machine files, repair files. • Maintains clear communication with supervisor and with production regarding equipment status of repair, and release to production. • Maintains equipment, parts, and supplies inventories by checking stock to determine inventory level; anticipating needed equipment, parts, and supplies; placing and expediting orders; verifying receipt for equipment. Basic Qualifications • Minimum 3 years’ experience working in a manufacturing environment with mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic machines. • Demonstrated experience in electrical and/or electronic and mechanical maintenance including motors, controls, power supplies, AC/DC theory, power distribution, PLC's, hydraulics/pneumatics, lubrication, power transmission, pumps. • Read and interpret blueprints, technical parts manuals such as electrical and mechanical diagrams, gages, meters, callipers, and other measuring tools. • Ability to use all required hand and power tools including, but not limited to: drill, saw, torch, and jacks, as well as ladders, cranes, fork lift, and other maintenance equipment.
