Sewing Machine Operator

Candidate will be responsible for conversing directly with TEAM LEADER and other team members in regards to manufacturability of product and being assigned daily tasks. Candidate will perform duties based on production schedule, primarily by sewing of textiles to one another, folding, trimming, cutting, taping, and laminating. Candidate’s position will consist of 75%‐80% sewing, and 20‐25% assembly. Candidate will utilize various substrates to assemble parts i.e., Nomex, neoprene, supported vinyl, PET, polyurethane coated textiles, nylons, Kevlar, or others substrates as necessary to comply with engineering design/customer’s request. Responsibilities: • Read and comprehend 2D assembly and part drawings, work order, utilize appropriate materials to fulfill work orders based on drawings, BOM, and inventory locations • Execute necessary steps per work order, and as directed per TEAM LEADER to sew/assemble parts per work order • Setup/operate sewing machine with appropriate thread, needle, bobbin, and tension per material requirement  Read/Verify/execute steps per work order and BOM, i.e., sew, laminate, fold, trim, read, write, glue, measure, lift, sit, see closeup, work with hands • Verify geometry utilizing scale, tape measure, templates • Verify product is free from defects, troubleshooting, and report accordingly by root cause • Communicate clearly, written and orally, to ensure product is manufactured per set forth requirements • Communicate with Leader when raw materials do not comply with quality requirements • Use hand tools, such as scissors, razor blade, screw drivers, rolls of double‐sided tape, punch • Work in compliance with ISO9001 company policy and objectives Job Type: Full-time Pay: $14.00 - $19.00 per hour Expected hours: 40 per week Benefits: • Dental insurance • Health insurance • Health savings account • On-the-job training • Paid time off • Retirement plan • Vision insurance Schedule: • 8 hour shift • Day shift Supplemental Pay: • Bonus opportunities Experience: • Sewing machine: 1 year (Preferred) Shift availability: • Day Shift (Required) Ability to Commute: • Albemarle, NC 28001 (Required) Ability to Relocate: • Albemarle, NC 28001: Relocate before starting work (Required) Work Location: In person
