A Snapshot of Your DayThe primary purpose of this position is to plan, lay out, manufacture, modify, repair, and assemble a wide range of complex fixtures and machine tools. Under limited supervision and with minimal guidance, works with a variety of customers to plan, design and manufacture development work on tooling and fixtures while utilizing both conventional and non-conventional manual and CNC equipment.How You'll Make an Impact • Demonstrate proficiency in programming most CNC equipment. • Craft and build mid-complex tooling with minimal guidance. • Maintain finish, alignment, and exacting accuracy of up to and including five-tenth of a thousandth inch (.0005) tolerance in the final assembly of components. Be proficient in most toolroom equipment. • Primarily working independently and utilizing the full array of the toolroom equipment. Receive the scope of work from the customer in verbal, written, or engineered prints. Design, program, and manufacture to achieve the needed quality and efficiency expectations. • Demonstrate ability to train apprentices utilizing standard processes. Develop programs utilizing Esprit and/or other CAD software for mid-complex jobs. Perform heat treatment procedure. • Demonstrate knowledge as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) on a minimum of one process What You Bring • Strong CNC experience. Lathe and Milling proficiency required - Wire EDM, Heat-treat and CAD software experience preferred. • Requires detailed knowledge of sophisticated shop mathematics together with the use of complicated drawings, blueprints, specifications, charts, and a variety of precision measuring instruments. • Knowledge of GD&T required. • Requires 4+ years of tool room experience, or equivalent. • Graduation from certified Tool & Die Apprentice Program preferred. • Competency Expectations: 3 months familiarization and 6 months to be proficient on any equipment due to lack of experience identified during the hiring process.
