Job Overview HEICO Group’s U.S. subsidiary is launching domestic production in a newly acquired facility in Hickory, NC. We are seeking a hands-on CNC Milling Department Lead to play a foundational role in establishing this operation. The ideal candidate has significant Mazak experience, thrives in a startup environment, and is eager to build out machining processes and products from the ground up using our new Mazak Integrex I-250HSN. Pay- experience based, highly competitive compensation with salary and additional production, other bonuses based on growth/profitability Duties • Set up, operate, and program Mazak milling machines (Integrex I-250HSN) to produce precision steel components; ability to read and edit programs as required; ability to program using Mazatrol or load existing CAM programs • Develop manufacturing and machining processes for new product line in accordance with parent company work flow as well as ISO standards • Ability, or willingness to learn to use saws, manual machines and other CNC equipment as required • Maintain equipment by completing preventative maintenance requirements following manufacturer’s instructions and standards set forth by management. When necessary, repair machines and equipment and test operation of unit to ensure functionality and performance • Responsible for keeping equipment and work area clean and orderly • Communicates daily with local teammates/leadership and with technical experts at German headquarters • Effectively quotes part cycle times and assists with costing/quote analysis with management • Interpret engineering drawings and specifications to ensure dimensional accuracy and product quality • Accomplish organizational goals by accepting ownership and personal accountability for job done • Ensure machine setups and tool changes are done efficiently and correctly • Inspect finished parts to verify conformance to parent company specifications and drawings • Manage daily/weekly/monthly production schedules; anticipates and plans for tooling, material and supply needs and communicates to purchasing department • Collaborate with management on future equipment planning and personnel needs • Assist in product assembly, packaging, and shipping as required during startup phase • Travel to Germany for onboarding and technical training with parent company; willingness to continue company sponsored outside training as needed • Ensure a safe work environment by adhering to OSHA and company safety protocols • Prepare and maintain accurate production and quality records • Support company growth by training future machinists and managing 1–3+ additional employees over time Requirements • Character traits: high integrity, positive/team-first outlook, work ethic, timeliness and attention-to-detail/quality • 2–5 years of Mazak experience (Integrex preferred) with strong programming and troubleshooting skills • Relevant technical degree or machining certifications • CAD, CAM competency; Mazitrol preferred, but not required (will be trained) • Proven ability to work independently in a startup manufacturing environment • Willingness to “wear many hats” and take on multiple responsibilities in a small team • Strong mechanical aptitude, attention to detail, and organizational skills • Willingness and ability to travel internationally and domestically for training • Leadership ability/potential to manage team growth and additional machines Benefits • Health, Dental, Vision Insurance • Group Life Insurance • Short/Long Term Disability • Pre-Tax Simple IRA with company match • Paid Vacation, Holiday and Sick days • Growth opportunities in a fast-expanding business • Relocation assistance available Join a dynamic and growing company, with a top-notch culture as we continue on the path to lead the market!
