CNC Machinist- 2nd Shift

We are looking for 2nd shift machinists for our machine shop in High Point, NC Must have extensive experience in metalworking and be proficient at running CNC Lathes and/or Mills. Applicant should also be proficient at checking parts using a variety of gauges. D.S.Miller, Inc is a 47 year old machine shop in High Point NC. Machine Operator

Description: Fitesa is a global leader in nonwoven fabric solutions, specializing in providing innovative fabrics the hygiene, medical, and industrial markets. Our High Point, NC operation has an excellent opportunity for a Melt Blown Machine Operator to join our rapidly growing team. The Machine Operator is responsible for the set-up and operation of the Melt Blown production line in accordance to customer specification and under direction of the team lead and or manager. Please note this position is for our Night Shift Operation - 7:15PM-7:30AM working 3 days on / 3 days off. In addition to a highly competitive pay structure, we offer these additional benefits: Fitesa Benefits: • Paid vacation • 10 paid holidays plus 2 floating holidays • 7% 401(K) paid by the company up to 4% dollar for dollar match + additional annual 3% company contribution • Flexible insurance packages with no waiting period for medical, vision, and dental benefits Requirements: • Responsible for set-up and preparation of melt blown line according to product specifications, set up sheets and line audit sheets as necessary. • Makes necessary equipment adjustments as required to meet quality standards and production levels. • Sample material and compare to standard. • Regularly patrols line for off-standard conditions. • Records process information on audit sheets and all other reports as required. • Follows all site safety rules and reports any abnormal or unsafe conditions. • Make equipment repairs, as directed by supervisor. • Responsible for housekeeping of line area. • Assist melt blown operator as needed. • Report to supervisor any unusual conditions in raw materials. • Performs all other duties as directed by supervisor. • Relieve operator for breaks. • Obtain and transport polymer from storage area to blend area. • Opens required polymer bales/boxes and feeds blending equipment. • All other duties as assigned. Core Competencies: • Strong organizational skills. • Close attention to detail and quality mindset. • Self-discipline. Behavioral Competencies Required: • Self-motivated and able to work with a minimal amount of daily supervision. • Ability to work well with all functions in the plant to accomplish the objectives of the assignment. • Effective communication skills. • Thorough knowledge of the occupation hazards and corresponding safety precautions necessary for the safe performance of assigned duties. • Willing and able to work flexible hours including rotating shifts as needed. Technical Competencies Required: • Ability to understand and interpret process settings center lines. • Ability to use a calculator. • Basic computer skills. • Ability to read and interpret Fitesa product codes and production schedules. • Advanced troubleshooting skills and good mechanical abilities. Other Requirements: • High School Diploma or GED equivalent • At least 1 year of manufacturing experience preferred • Non-woven experience preferred Physical Demands: This position requires frequently lifting and/or moving up to 25 pounds and occasionally lifting and/or moving up to 50 pounds. The position requires frequent lifting, walks and stands for long periods of time, and performs strenuous physical labor under extreme temperatures. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
