Machinist The successful Machinist will be performing moderately complex assignments in support of our repair and maintenance of OEM equipment. Machinists will be required to perform a variety of related tasks including layout, set up, operating and making tool adjustments for various types of manual and CNC machine shop equipment. We Take Care of Our People Paid Time Off I 401K with Employer Match and Profit Sharing I Health and Wellness Benefits I Learning and Development Opportunities I Referral Program I Competitive Pay I Recognition I Employee Stock Purchase Plan I Inclusive & Supportive Culture Your Challenge • Manufacture and inspect detailed parts and tools from blueprints, sketches, drawings and verbal instructions using a variety of manual machining tools and equipment (mills, lathes, boring mills, drill presses, saws, grinders, and other machining equipment) and using mathematical and geometrical skills and calculations • Determine how to set up and operate machines based on instructions received • Perform minor repairs of equipment • Keep work area clean and free from safety hazards Maintain acceptable quality and efficiency level • Complete required reports and QA Documents to go with the project • Use a variety of measuring or layout tools such as verniers, micrometers, height gauges, dial indicators, gauge blocks, angle plates, V- blocks, bore and pitch gauges, protractors, squares and dividers What You Bring • Must be US citizen and be able to obtain and maintain DOD security clearance • 5 years machine shop experience and/or have completed a recognized apprenticeship as a General Machinist. • Experience with TRAK CNC machine control is highly desired • Open to learning conventional machining on legacy type machines • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings • Ability to machine as per drawing tolerance of .0005" where required • Must be able to demonstrate General Machinist skills in the following areas: • Lathe • Milling • Drilling • Machine shop power and pneumatic tools • Must be able to design and manufacture fixtures and template • Must be able to make own layouts as per drawing • Must be able to understand GD&T tolerances • Experience operating forklifts, cranes, plate clamps and slings a plus • Expected to have or purchase basic hand tools • The ability to work overtime when necessary and travel up to 25% is also a must Who We Are Our Values Environmental, Social and Governance Curtiss-Wright Fleet Solutions is comprised of three service centers that focus on the US Navy fleet support and maintenance market. SUMMARY/OBJECTIVE The Inside Machinist JM3 to be competent in the operation of machinery associated with the manufacturing process. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS / DUTIES • Be a self-starter with little supervision required • Operate machine shop manual equipment. • Reads job specifications to determine machine adjustments and material requirements • Be competent in setup • Deburr and hand finish parts • Clean shop • Track material PO#’s • Follow written and verbal instructions • Must adhere to a promote ALL company safety policies.
