WHAT YOU’LL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR IN THIS ROLE The Machinist plays a critical role in the manufacturing process by producing precision components that meet strict specifications. This position requires a deep understanding of machining processes, tools, and equipment to ensure high-quality output. The Machinist will work closely with engineers and production teams to interpret blueprints and technical drawings, translating them into tangible products. Attention to detail and adherence to safety protocols are paramount, as the role involves operating complex machinery. Ultimately, the Machinist contributes to the overall efficiency and success of our manufacturing operations, ensuring that we meet our production goals and maintain our reputation for excellence. • Examine and inspect work progress equipment • Read specifications, such as blueprints, to determine construction requirements or to plan procedures • Set up and operate a variety of machine tools to produce precision parts and instruments • Monitor the feed and speed of machines during the machining process • Measure, examine, or test completed units to check for defects and ensure conformance to specifications, using precision instruments, such as micrometers, calipers etc. • Study sample parts, blueprints, drawings, or engineering information to determine methods or sequences of operations needed to fabricate products • Perform other duties as assigned • Keep up with Quality control on all parts, operations and sequence on jobs being run by machinist. • Machine a variety of parts and setting the lathe and the Mill with parts made from plastics and different types of Stainless steel, using industrial equipment, hydraulic press, manual lathe, manual milling machine, and band saw. WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR Minimum Qualifications: • High school diploma/GED; and one to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience • Candidates must have a verifiable history of safe vehicle operation and meet company standards for driving eligibility. This includes maintaining a clean driving record, which will be verified through a background check. Required Skills and Abilities: • Three years of experience in related industry • Read and understand mechanical drawings, schematics, and sketches, shop math • Will work with high integrity and comply with corporate guidelines on business ethics • Follow company and department rules and policies, team player a must. • Ability to communicate clearly and concisely • Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment • Excellent organizational skills to ensure ability to organize and execute planning methods • Good computer skills and fundamentals Preferred Qualifications: • Prior experience with manual Lathe, and Mills a plus • Prior machine shop experience a plus • Mechanical background a plus • Bilingual English/Spanish • Associate degree (A.A.) or equivalent, from two-Year College or technical school; and two to three years of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience PHYSICAL DEMANDS: • Environment exposure_ hot/humid conditions (95 ° or above). • Environmental exposure – cold/wet conditions (40 ° or below). • Material exposure – moving mechanical parts. • Occasional exposure to fumes, airborne particles, and vibrations. • Able to lift up to 50 pounds • Able to stand and walk for extended periods. • Ability to ascend and descend ladders, scaffolding, using 3-point contact on a regular basis when assigned to perform work duties HOURS & WORKDAYS: • 1st Shift – 06:00 am to 2:30 PM; Overtime, Weekends, and Holidays may be mandatory based on business needs. Rotating workday/time off schedules may be mandatory depending on department/business needs as well. We are hiring a skilled Manual Machinist for a well-known company in Bakersfield, CA. Under minimal supervision, sets up and operates manually controlled machines with skilled precision to fabricate, repair, or alter machine parts, tools, and equipment. The day-to-day tasks fluctuate to meet the needs of our customers.
