Job Overview We are seeking a skilled CAD Designer / CNC Operator to join our manufacturing team in a fast-paced, precision-driven environment. The ideal candidate will be responsible for setting up, operating, and maintaining CNC machines such as CNC milling machines, CNC lathes, and other machining equipment as well as actively design and modify CAD models for products we sell. This role requires a strong understanding of manufacturing processes, blueprint reading, and quality control standards. The CNC Operator will play a vital role in ensuring the production of high-quality components while adhering to safety and efficiency standards within our manufacturing facility. Duties • Set up and operate various CNC machines including milling machines, lathes, and stamping presses with precision. • Program CNC equipment using CAM software. • Utilize tools such as calipers, micrometers, and other precision measuring instruments to verify dimensions and tolerances. • Perform routine maintenance on CNC machinery and troubleshoot issues related to Fanuc controls or programmable logic controllers. • Handle materials safely using forklifts or other materials handling equipment when necessary. • Conduct quality inspections throughout the machining process to ensure parts meet specifications. • Maintain documentation of production activities and quality checks for compliance purposes. • Assist in fabrication, assembly line tasks, or packaging as needed within the manufacturing process. • Follow safety protocols including proper use of hand tools and personal protective equipment. Experience • Proven experience operating CNC machinery such as CNC milling machines, CNC lathes, or similar equipment in a manufacturing environment. • Strong knowledge of blueprint reading, GD&T standards, and mechanical drawings. • Familiarity with CAM programming, CAD software like Fusion360, SolidWorks or similar tools. • Experience with tooling setup, fixture design, and materials handling including forklift operation is preferred. • Hands-on experience with quality control instruments like calipers and micrometers. • Background in manufacturing processes such as fabrication, welding, stamping presses, or packaging is advantageous. • Previous factory or warehouse experience demonstrating mechanical aptitude and attention to detail is beneficial.
