Job Summary We are seeking a skilled CNC Machinist to join our dynamic manufacturing team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of CNC programming and machining processes, with the ability to operate CNC lathes and milling machines effectively. The CNC Machinist will be responsible for producing precision parts and components, ensuring adherence to specifications and quality standards. Responsibilities • Set up and operate CNC lathes and milling machines to manufacture precision components. • Interpret blueprints and technical drawings to determine machining specifications. • Utilize CAD software, including SolidWorks, Mastercam for designing parts and tooling. • Perform CNC programming and CAM programming to optimize machining processes. • Conduct inspections using precision measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers, bore gauges, and coordinate measuring machines. • Maintain a clean and organized workspace while adhering to safety protocols. • Collaborate with team members on lean manufacturing initiatives to improve production efficiency. • Troubleshoot and resolve any issues related to machinery or tooling during the production process. • Assist in assembly tasks as needed, utilizing hand tools and power tools effectively. Requirements • Proven experience as a CNC Machinist with a strong mechanical knowledge base. • Proficiency in CNC programming. • Familiarity with plastics injection molding processes is a plus. • Strong understanding of basic math principles related to machining tasks. • Ability to read blueprints and technical documentation accurately. • Knowledge of tooling, assembly processes, and lean manufacturing practices. • Experience operating forklifts is an advantage. • Excellent attention to detail with a commitment to producing high-quality work. Location Profile: Summit Machine, LLC specializes in the rough and finish machining of super alloys for the aerospace, commercial, defense, power, and petroleum industries. Position Summary: The Level 1 Machinist operates 2-5 axis CNC lathe machines, which requires machine setup including preparing and setting up fixtures and cutting tools, loading and adjusting CNC programs and offsets, performing inspections and basic preventative machine maintenance such as coolant and lube levels and area cleanliness. Competencies include the ability to use more advanced quality inspection tools and techniques. Must be able to read prints and have experience with common CNC G and M codes. This position may support 1st shift (4:15am - 12:45pm, M - F), 2nd shift (12:15pm - 8:45pm, M - F), 3rd shift (8:15pm - 4:45am, Su - Th) operations, or a split shift depending on business needs. The selected individual will train on 1st shift for approximately 3 months, or until able to demonstrate an ability to perform the job with minimal intervention. Shift premiums will apply upon schedule change if applicable.
