CNC Lathe Operator Duties: • Manufacture products in accordance with Engineering drawings • Adhere to all department and Company quality standards • Check product dimensions utilizing proper equipment • Refer any issues regarding the CNC Lathe area to senior leads or supervisors • Assure compliance to all department and Company quality standards • Record, as required, all productivity on Company system • Clean and maintain machinery according to department and Company standards • Adhere to all Company safety regulations • The ability to communicate in English (reading, writing, and speaking) • *May be required to participate in and/or conduct regular department trainings Compensation: $25-$30 Qualifications: • A minimum of 1 year or more of operation experience with CNC Lathes (such as Okuma, Takisawa, Swiss, Doosan, etc.). • Ability to learn to set-up a CNC lathe (including work holding, kitting of tools, touching off of tools/establishing offsets, reading of manufacturing drawings, and first article buy-off) on FANUC or OSP (Okuma) controls. Francis, Ontario, CA 91761 Essential Job Duties (which include, but not limited to): • Set up and operate machines to produce parts by using work orders, blueprints, materials, and specifications. • Interpret job instructions such as CNC program, setup sheet, tool list, job routing, part drawings and in-process quality instructions. • Locate the appropriate tool holders, tools and fixtures, and load them into the machine. • Load the CNC program into the machine control including zero and reference points and enter tool length and offsets. • Determine how fast to feed the work piece into the machine and how much material to remove. • Ensure that the work piece is properly lubricated and cooled. • Set up and inspect parts. • Keep work area clean and organized. • Adhere to Hera Safety protocols and OSHA/Cal OSHA safety regulations. • Maintain compliance with Company policies. • Suggest and help implement cost reductions and quality improvements. • Provide recommendations to improve productivity, equipment utilization, and identify best use of equipment and tooling accordingly. • Set up preliminary runs to verify accuracy and provide feedback for process improvements, inclusive of machining 1st Article parts and making offset and/or work with team to program modifications based on inspection results. • Perform equipment preventative maintenance actions and document actions regularly. • Support 5-S and adhere to health, safety, and environmental company guidelines. • Perform cross-functional operations. Minimum Requirements: • High school diploma or general education diploma (GED). • Five (5) years' experience with 3-5 axis HAAS and Thermwood machines. • Five (5) years' experience in CNC lathe machining. • Five(5) years' experience in mill machining or related experience. • Ability to read and interpret complex blueprints. • Knowledge of a variety of cutting tools. • Knowledge of CNC HAAS, Fanuc, and OKK controls. • Ability to read and interpret documents such as work orders. • Ability to work with shop math. • Ability to use standard measuring tools (i.e. micrometers, calipers). • Ability to communicate effectively in oral and written English. • Ability to learn to perform cross-functional operations. Preferred Requirements: • Experience with 3-5 axis machining of metallics, composites, honeycomb and plastics preferred. • Experience with conventional mill, lathes, and surface grinders. • Ability to fabricate fixtures.
