Machinist A - 1st shift

Eaton’s IS AER FMC division is currently seeking a Machinist A - 1st shift. The hourly range for this position is $30.40 - $45.60 per hour. However, the starting rate is generally $36.00. The hours for first shift are as follows; 5:30 am - 1:45 pm. Salaries are based upon candidate skills, experience, and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations. What you’ll do: Eaton Aerospace Group located in Los Angeles, CA (near Glendale metro) has an opening for a Machinist A. The LA facility has approximately 250 employees and is a leader in the design, development, manufacture and delivery of Aerospace hydraulic components, systems and services to the global aftermarket and OEM markets. Essential Functions: • Capability to setup complex parts and operate machine without supervision. • Interprets plans, work order, blueprints or drawings to determine the necessary work required, full understanding of GD&T. • Inspects parts for quality and appropriate tolerance using the appropriate measuring tools such as micrometers, calipers, air gages and comparators. • Finishes all parts with different materials to close tolerance without supervision. • Examines surface of work piece for defects before starting work. • Must meet production and quality requirements at all times, always keep work area clean. • Ability to modify machining feed and speeds on multiple material types and select tooling, gauges as/if required. • Uses measuring tools, air gauges, micrometers and other inspection tools to verify part quality. • Replaces worn tools, inspect parts and adjust tool offsets as needed. • Must be a team player and follow all safety rules and regulations. • Drives for continuous process improvements Qualifications: Basic Qualifications: • High school diploma or a GED from an accredited institution • Minimum of 7 years experience in machining, honing or lapping parts in a manufacturing environment. • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds often. • Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship. • This position requires use of information or access to hardware which is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR). Purpose The Senior CNC Machining Specialist is a highly skilled professional responsible for overseeing advanced machining processes and delivering precision-manufactured components for industries such as automotive, aerospace, and advanced manufacturing. The Opportunity The J Paul Getty Museum seeks an experienced Machinist specialized in the design and fabrication of exhibition display cases and pedestals. Reporting to the Lead Preparator, the successful candidate will apply specialized skills to the design and fabrication of metal, plastic, and wood exhibition display cases and pedestals in specification to the Getty Museum’s design and fabrication standards. They work closely with preparators, designers, conservators and other staff, vendors and consultants to ensure the quality and timely delivery of these items. They also ensure the proper and safe operation of tools and equipment used in the trade and will train and oversee staff using those tools and equipment in the workshop. They advise on material selection and fabrication methods and procedures in alignment with Getty Museum’s design and fabrication standards. Works closely with supervisor on safety policies and procedures. The Museum’s Exhibitions Division comprises four Departments: Exhibitions Coordination; Registration; Design and Preparations.
