SUMMARY/OBJECTIVE Chrome Hearts is seeking a skilled and detail-oriented CNC Set-Up / Operator to join our team. The successful candidate will work directly with a CNC programmer to perform machine set-ups and operate a 30 Taper 4-spindle rotary CNC wood router machine. This role involves loading parts, setting up the machine, and performing various operations to ensure high-quality production of wood parts. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS • Load parts into the machine and perform set-ups according to production paperwork instructions. • Load programs, tools, and set offsets on the machine using a probing system and height gauge. • Collaborate closely with the programming department to relay important information for updating production packages. • Use measuring tools, including tape measures, calipers, micrometers, height gauges, and pin gauges, to inspect finished parts per print. • Install and remove riser tables and tailstocks as needed. • Utilize tooling associated with clamping or unclamping parts to the machine, such as strap clamps, part drivers, threaded rods, wing nuts, risers, torque wrenches, metric and inch standard Allen wrenches, open-end and adjustable wrenches, screwdrivers, and socket drivers. • Maintain accurate maintenance logs and record any issues with the machine. • Organize incoming and outgoing raw materials. • Clean and maintain the CNC router machine and dust collection system, including performing daily, weekly, and monthly maintenance routines. • Perform various manual operations to prep blanks for production, including gluing materials, using hand drills, and skill saws. • Execute low to mid-volume production runs. • Maintain a safe and organized work area. QUALIFICATIONS • Experience in woodworking or the operation of wood-cutting machinery, preferably a CNC wood router with 4-axis capabilities. • Familiarity with the CNC programming language including general M and G code functions. • Familiarity with CNC machine controllers is preferred, particularly a Fagor Model 8055 controller • Experience or understanding of Lean manufacturing principles and practices is desirable. • Experience with cutting various types of wood. • General computer skills for updating production packages and writing operational processes and procedures. • Strong attention to detail and precision in performing set-ups and operations. • Good communication skills to effectively collaborate with the programming department. • Ability to work independently and as part of a team. • Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills. • Physical capability to handle manual tasks, including lifting and moving materials and machine components. WORK ENVIRONMENT This position operates in a manufacturing and production floor environment. At times, machines and hand tools may create dust as well as noise exposure that is within sound level parameters.
