Eaton’s IS AER FMC division is currently seeking a Machinist A - 1st shift. The hourly range for this position is $30.40 - $45.60 per hour. However, the starting rate is generally $36.00. What you’ll do: Eaton Aerospace Group located in Los Angeles, CA (near Glendale metro) has an opening for a Machinist A. The LA facility has approximately 250 employees and is a leader in the design, development, manufacture and delivery of Aerospace hydraulic components, systems and services to the global aftermarket and OEM markets. Essential Functions: • Capability to setup complex parts and operate machine without supervision. • Interprets plans, work order, blueprints or drawings to determine the necessary work required, full understanding of GD&T. • Inspects parts for quality and appropriate tolerance using the appropriate measuring tools such as micrometers, calipers, air gages and comparators. • Finishes all parts with different materials to close tolerance without supervision. • Examines surface of work piece for defects before starting work. • Must meet production and quality requirements at all times, always keep work area clean. • Ability to modify machining feed and speeds on multiple material types and select tooling, gauges as/if required. • Uses measuring tools, air gauges, micrometers and other inspection tools to verify part quality. • Replaces worn tools, inspect parts and adjust tool offsets as needed. • Must be a team player and follow all safety rules and regulations. • Drives for continuous process improvements Qualifications: Basic Qualifications: • High school diploma or a GED from an accredited institution • Minimum of 7 years experience in machining, honing or lapping parts in a manufacturing environment. • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds often. • Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship. • This position requires use of information or access to hardware which is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR).
