ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: • Operates machines to produce production at expected levels. • Performs record keeping, data entry, housekeeping, and follows safety regulations. • Measures dimensions of finished work pieces to ensure conformance to specifications, using precision measuring instruments, templates, and fixtures. • Removes and replaces inserts. • Listens to machines during operation in order to detect sounds such as those made by dull cutting tools or excessive vibration and adjust machines to compensate for problems. • Stops machines to remove finished work pieces, or to change tooling. • Reads blueprint or job order for product specification such as dimensions, tolerance, number or parts to be formed and tooling instruction on type tooling required. • Assists other operators with machine operation, techniques and quality productivity as required. • Utilizes calipers, micrometers, and gauging tools to perform inspection to ensure conformance, dimension, and tolerance levels are within specifications. • Performs Statistical Process Control (SPC) and verifies part samples to blueprint specification.
