Machinist Operator – 1 Shift

Machine Operators - Thousand Oaks, CA $25.00 to $32.00/ Hourly Hours: 5:30am to 2:00pm Job Summary: Must set-up, run, and inspect parts to drawing specification using CNC Lathe or CNC Mill, and/or CNC mill turn. The Machinist Operator is required to perform first article inspections and correct any discrepancies between part measurements and print requirements. Must perform advanced set-up and fixturing of jobs. The Machinist Operator must have the ability to troubleshoot and rectify any problems. Should be adept in all aspects of machining and assist other machinists as needed. Job Responsibilities: • Apply knowledge of machine shop theory and procedures, shop mathematics, machinability of materials and layout techniques. • Able to set up and operate CNC Lathe or CNC Mill with 5-10 years’ experience. • Utilizes tools and measuring instruments including, but not limited to saw, shear, grinder, calipers, micrometer, calculator, and various other hand tools. • Read blueprints, machine, and inspect completed parts and related documentation. • Retrieve appropriate tools from tool crib to complete job. • Refer to reference books or confer with engineers to resolve questions/issues. • Maintains equipment as necessary. • Perform other job-related duties as assigned. Experience / Qualifications: • Reading, writing and math ability • Able to read, speak, and understand English Preferred years of experience: • 10 - 25 years years’ experience Physical Requirements: • Able to lift/carry/pull/push up to 20lbs • Occasionally (approximately 3 hours per shift) required to go through intervals of walking, sitting, twisting, and bending Additional Job Details This position requires eligibility to obtain authorization under the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) and/or the Export Administration Regulations (EAR). As a CNC Machine Operator, you will be part of the production department supporting skilled machinists and engineers.
