Volt is immediately hiring a Machine Operator in Visalia, CA As a Machine Operator you will: • A Machine Operator is responsible to maintain the operation of the Blanking Department by producing blanks required by the blanker schedule. • The Machine Operator is responsible for promoting safety, quality, and sanitation to avoid product defects and contamination. • Machine operators will ensure quality through visual inspection of the blank along with making machine adjustments on an as needed basis. • Machine operators will perform, and complete other work as assigned by the supervisor and assist other operators, as necessary. Shift: 1st Shift 8:00 AM– 4:00 PM 2nd Shift 4:00 PM –12:00 AM 3rd Shift 12:00 AM– 8:00 AM The ideal candidate will have: • 2 years’ experience with operating machines. • HS Diploma or Equivalent • Must have steel toe shoes/boots • Mechanical Aptitude • Able to work a flexible schedule This is a Full-Time Contract opportunity. In this role, you’ll be tasked with setting up and operating a Waterjet machine to ensure accurate and timely machining of parts based on blueprint specifications. Requirements: • Set up and operate the waterjet properly and efficiently. • Program, load and unloading parts. • Study and interpret drawings, manuals, specifications or sample parts to determine dimensions and tolerances of finished work pieces, sequence of operations and setup requirements. • Measure and mark dimensions and reference points on material or work pieces as a guide for subsequent machining. • Select proper tools and ensure efficient machining production to meet production schedule needs. • Collaborate and receive instruction from experienced machinists, CNC programmer(s), and supervisors. • Monitor output and proper operation of mechanical equipment. • Recommend and/or make mechanical adjustments to ensure parts are meeting quantity and quality requirements. Follow and consistently maintain a safe and clean working environment. • Use precision measuring instruments including micrometers and calipers, and fixtures and gauges to check work. • Adhere to company quality and rework standards and expectations. • Communicate recommendations to modify processes to improve productivity and quality. • Understand and meet company quality standards and objectives to fulfill customers’ requirements. • Flexibility to assist operators and machinists in other areas, as well as learn and operate other equipment. • Carry out other duties reasonable within capability as requested by Supervisor and/or Manager. Desired Requirements: • Minimum of 2-year experience in a Machining environment. • Associate’s Degree/Certification in related field preferred. • Experience with operation of lathe machinery. • Understanding and ability to machine at a tolerance of +/- .005 • Strong attention to detail to ensure precision of parts machined. • Ability to read and interpret blueprints. • Reliable to keep up with production demand. • Ability to work well independently and with fellow coworkers What’s in it for you? CRT’s will ensure machines are kept clean and in good working conditions and are responsible for cleaning any spills in the production area.
