CNC Milling Machinist- 2nd shift

CNC Machinist (Various Shifts) - P

Siemens Energy is actively recruiting for full-time positions across various shifts, encompassing a range of days and time slots. Currently hiring in different product line/ operations including – Steam Turbine, Large Generator, Gas Turbine and/ or Combustion. A Snapshot of Your Day The primary purpose of this position is to plan, lay out, manufacture, modify, repair, and assemble a wide range of complex fixtures and machine tools. Under limited supervision and with minimal guidance, works with a variety of customers to plan, design and manufacture development work on tooling and fixtures while applying both conventional and non-conventional manual and CNC equipment. The right candidate can be hired for Lathe Machinist, Vertical Boring Mill, and/ or Horizontal Boring Mill How You’ll Make an Impact • Set up and operate CNC equipment and perform various machining operations on a variety of parts and components • Sets-up and operates one or more of the following: CNC VBM with various control software, CNC Lathe, CNC HBM with various control software • Operate machine using various tables and fixtures What You Bring • High school diploma required and preferred associate’s degree • 3 or more years of tool room experience or equivalent knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) required. • CNC experience required with proficiency in CNC machining, offsets, metrology and at least one of the following: Lathe, Vertical Boring Mill, Horizontal Boring Mill. • Basic knowledge in CNC machining, manual machining, setups, monitoring tool wear, G-codes, M-codes, troubleshooting, and blueprint reading. • Detailed knowledge of sophisticated shop mathematics and the ability to interpret complicated drawings, blueprints, specifications, charts, and utilize a variety of precision measuring instruments. • The Career Readiness/Work Keys Certificate – Silver Status required • Successful applicants must be able to pass standard hearing, vision, and pulmonary function tests as required to perform the duties. • Physical Demand: Moderate, with some periodic heavier lifting required • Applicants must be legally authorized for employment in the United States without need for current or future employer-sponsored work authorization. Tool Production Machinist (4x10 Night Shift)

A Snapshot of Your Day As a CNC Machinist B in the Small Components manufacturing area within Siemens Energy Steam Turbine products division, you will have the opportunity to gain hands-on machining experience with Steam Turbine components. This role also offers potential for growth into higher levels of the Siemens Energy skills framework, allowing you to further develop your career. The primary purpose of this position is to set up, operate, program manual and CNC horizontal milling machines, manual lathes, and CNC lathes performing detailed operations on a variety of parts and components. Use a range of tools, including milling cutters, boring bars and heads, saws, micrometers, gauges, indicators, and more. How You’ll Make an Impact • Use material handling devices to load/unload parts from machines or assist the crane operator. Set up machines by installing tooling and adjusting settings, feeds, and speeds according to job documentation and drawing specifications. • Secure workpieces using various tools and equipment to ensure accurate alignment and leveling. • Follow established procedures and use lineups, manuscripts, programs, and tooling sheets to operate machines. • Perform machining operations using manual, semi-automatic, or automatic controls to mill, drill, ream, bore, tap, turn, face, groove, radius, and grind. • Conduct in-process integrity checks to maintain drawing tolerances, perform testing and data recording, and make necessary tool changes or machine adjustments. • Remove chips, inspect and clean parts, perform preventative maintenance, minor machine repairs, and complete required documentation such as log sheets and downtime records. What You Bring • Must have w5-7 years of practical trades training including CNC machinery, programming, G & M code, and manual machining • A proven understanding of shop mathematics and the capacity to interpret complicated drawings, specifications, charts, and tables including blueprints is required • Effective written and verbal communication abilities are essential, • Ability to maintain Siemens Energy equipment certifications is required. • Experience with precision measuring instruments and/or specialized occupation training. • Must be authorized to work in the US without need for sponsorship, in addition to passing specified career testing at Silver Status.
