Job Title: CNC Machinist Job Description Are you ready to take your machining skills to the next level? Join our team as a Machinist, where you'll set up and operate both manual and CNC horizontal milling machines, manual lathes, and CNC lathes to perform precise operations on various parts and components. This role demands proficiency in shop mathematics and the ability to interpret complex drawings, specifications, and precision measuring instruments. Responsibilities • Precision Operations: Work from manufacturing information, drawings, and verbal instructions to perform operations with accuracy. • Material Handling: Use material handling devices to load/unload parts from machines or assist the crane operator. • Machine Setup: Install tooling and adjust machine settings, feeds, and speeds as per job documentation. • Workpiece Securing: Secure workpieces using plumb bob, setup blocks, surface/height gauge, dowel indicators/pins, or optical leveling equipment. • Procedure Adherence: Follow established procedures on lineups, manuscripts, programs, and tooling sheets to operate machines. • Machining Operations: Use manual, semi-automatic, or automatic controls for operations such as milling, drilling, reaming, boring, tapping, turning, facing, grooving, radiusing, and grinding. • Integrity Checks: Perform in-process integrity checks to maintain specific drawing tolerances. • Data Recording: Conduct in-process testing and chart operational information or record data as required. • Tool Adjustments: Make necessary tool changes or offsets and re-orient machines accordingly. Essential Skills • Experience: 5-7 years of applied trades training, including the use of blueprints and CNC equipment. • Communication: Ability to read, write, understand, and follow verbal and written instructions. • Certification: Certification in equipment operation such as forklift and crane. Work Environment Work in a machine shop setting, with shifts available on weekends and nights. Night shift operates from 4:00pm to 2:30am (4x10) with a $1.00 premium, while the weekend shift is from 5:30am to 6:00pm (3x12) with a $3.50 premium. Job Type & Location This is a permanent position based out of Charlotte, North Carolina. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $62816.00 - $68639.00/yr.
