Summary As a CNC Operator, you will be an integral part of our manufacturing team, supporting the production process with your core skills in blueprint reading, machining, and precision measuring. With relevant skills in manufacturing facilities, fabrication, and quality control, you will contribute to the smooth operation of our machine shop. Job Duties: • Operate CNC mills and/or lathes • Inspect in-process parts using mechanical gages • Fill out paperwork per job requirements • Maintain a clean and safe work area • Deburr parts when necessary Job Requirements: • Proficiency in blueprint reading and mechanical knowledge • Experience in manufacturing and machining processes • Familiarity with using calipers, micrometers, and precision measuring instruments • Ability to work in a manufacturing facility following AS9100 standards • Strong attention to detail and ability to work in English-speaking environment • Ability to follow procedures • This position requires standing for up to 8 hours per day This position can lead to a CNC Setup Machinist role if candidate demonstrates proficiency in CNC operating abilities. Schedule: Monday-Friday Hours: 6am-2:30pm What You Will Do: • Set up and operate CNC machines, including Hermle, Mikron, HAAS, Doosan, and Grob technology. • Utilize Fanuc controls and make minor program edits at the machine. • Interpret mechanical blueprints, parts lists, specifications, and client requirements. • Perform setups using probes and tool setters, ensuring tools are accurately measured. • Create subroutine programs and edit existing machine programs. • Document setups and train team members on proper processes. • Adhere to ISO Quality Policies and maintain compliance with industry standards. • Verify that parts meet tolerance and quality standards. • Maintain a clean and safe working environment, following company policies. • Coordinate schedules to meet production timelines. • Log job details into the Epicor ERP system and maintain accurate records, including part counts and revision checks. • Communicate effectively across teams to ensure seamless workflow and project completion. • Demonstrate strong attendance, punctuality, and a proven work history. • Exhibit self-motivation, proactivity, and the ability to work with minimal supervision. • Display excellent math skills and attention to detail. • Perform other duties as assigned. Do You Have: • Minimum of 5 years' experience as a CNC Setup Machinist • AA Degree or High School diploma with job experience • Team player and positive, cooperative attitude • Reliability and ability to listen and follow instruction • Solution oriented and ability to respectfully communicate with colleagues • Proficiency with setup sheets and understanding of G&M codes. • Strong ability to troubleshoot and optimize programs and tooling. • Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills and a sense of urgency. As a 2nd shift Machinist you will: • Perform all assigned functions in accordance with MEI policies and procedures, including but not limited to: • Inspecting parts for quality and compliance (Advanced level) • Job planning and material preparation (Advanced level) • Performing benchwork and layout tasks (Advanced level) • Milling setup, operation, and processes (Advanced level) • Turning setup, operation, and processes (Advanced level) • Grinding parts, components, and surfaces (Advanced level) • Troubleshooting equipment, processes, and part-related issues (Advanced level) • Edit CNC programming setup sheets as needed, making adjustments or recommending improvements. • Accurately document all completed operations in the ERP system, including job/operation details, time tracking, and conformance status with supporting comments when applicable. • Create and submit Nonconformance Reports (NCRs) as needed, clearly identifying the issue, root cause, and proper part labeling. • Assist Process Engineering with developing job time standards and establishing new production processes for New Product Introduction (NPI) and ongoing continuous improvement. • Perform housekeeping, preventive maintenance, and equipment cleaning tasks on a regular shift basis. • Work in a safe and compliant manner, following established safety protocols and operational procedures. • Adhere to all applicable laws, regulations, and company obligations whenever conducting business on behalf of the organization.
