Heating and Air Conditioning Technician II This position will maintain, diagnose and repair a wide variety of HVAC equipment. Duties include, but are not limited to the following: • Maintain and repair air handling units, packaged roof top units, gas furnaces, pumps, motors, valves, bearing assemblies, boilers, chillers, exhaust fans, heat pumps, vav units, dedicated outside air units, variable frequency drives, heat exchangers, mini-split systems, hydronic piping systems, geo-thermal heat pumps & VRF systems. • Replace and repair piping, valves & compressors. • Operate building automation systems using a laptop computer. • Clean ductwork, vents, replace air filters & fabricate sheet metal. • Order parts, equipment & supplies. • Contact customers, contractors and vendors. Maintain an open line of communication with them. • Perform daily building checks on HVAC systems within the assigned buildings. Take corrective and preventive action as appropriate. All employees may be expected to work hours in excess of their normally scheduled hours in response to short-term department needs and/or City-wide emergencies.
