HVAC / HVAC-R Technician ​Job Description 1. Technician will mostly be involved in repairing retail ice merchandisers, commonly called “ice boxes”. Carolina Ice Company provides ice merchandisers to customers that use or sell packaged ice products manufactured by the company. Ice Merchandisers are placed throughout the Central and Eastern areas of North Carolina in various types of accounts. 2. Technician will need to have the skills to troubleshoot and repair the refrigeration systems found on typical modern day retail ice merchandisers. 3. Technician should have and maintain an acceptable driving record. 4. Technician should also have the HVAC skills to troubleshoot and repair typical HVAC systems. 5. Technician should have good verbal communication skills and have the ability to communicate to customers in a pleasant and appreciative manner. 6. Technician will be provided a service vehicle plus tools and equipment needed to perform repairs . 7. Use lap top and/or hand held computer to log in calls, time, and nature of repair at each designated site. Enter ongoing data into lap top/hand held computer regarding location and repairs anticipated, completed, ongoing, parts purchase and time arrived, on-site, and completed.Inspect, maintain, and perform daily maintenance on company van to assure proper running condition to respond to calls quickly with minimum interruption 24/7.Alert Senior Service Tech of any service repairs needing assistance, technically, mechanically, and physically.
