Employee is on call 24 hours per day. Reports to the HVAC/R II Technician and the Facilities Director. Assumes secondary responsibility for monitoring, servicing, and the repairing of heating, ventilation, air conditioning and refrigeration systems in County buildings and facilities, including air handler units, chillers, air conditioning units, boilers, furnaces, heat pumps, hot water pumps, etc.; calibrates electronic and pneumatic controls; checks thermostats, changes belts, bearings, motors, filters, air dryers, and compressors; cleans coils; performs scheduled maintenance on heating and cooling equipment; performs electrical work as required, including pulling new wires, rewiring heating and air conditioning systems and thermostat locations.
