Commercial HVAC Service Apprentice

HVAC SERVICE APPRENTICE Air Mechanical & Service Corp. was established in 1982. We are a mechanical service company that can provide you with a wide ranging career path. Our HVAC Technician is responsible for performing, repairs and maintenance for a variety of commercial HVAC equipment throughout the Tampa Bay area. Our account base includes large Commercial buildings, Hospitals, School systems, Manufacturing plants, Power plants and Municipal building. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES • Analyze, Plan, and Perform Preventive Maintenance of HVAC Systems. • Plan shutdowns for maintenance and repair for commercial HVAC equipment. • Troubleshoot, repair and make modifications to HVAC Systems • Adhere to all city, state, and federal regulatory statues • Maintain maintenance records as required by City, State, and EPA regulations • Order and maintain parts needed to repair and maintain HVAC Equipment • Manage relationship with all major vendor accounts • Properly maintain and safeguard system assets. • Other Duties as assigned • Understands and has mastered the refrigeration cycles. • Understands refrigeration recovery, evacuation and charging, understands the installation and sizing of refrigerant piping. • Understands, AC and DC currents, single phase and three phase circuits, and series and parallel circuits. • Ability to read wiring advanced wiring diagrams. Ability to use multi-meters to read voltage, current and resistance values. • Must be able to troubleshoot advanced electrical circuits. SPECIAL KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES • Able to read electrical schematics and mechanical blueprints • Ability to read and interpret documents, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and operation manuals. • Ability to organize work and meet deadlines. • Strong verbal and written communication skills • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Knowledge of Advanced cooling load calculations QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS • EPA Universal Certification • Trade School Certification • 0-2 years of experience as in HVAC Service PHYSICAL DEMANDS Ability to lift and/or carry moderate weight (15-50 pounds), sit, stand, walk, climb stairs, reach, repetitive hand motions, hear, speak, some travel within the state of Florida, may experience prolonged and irregular work hours, and work with frequent interruptions. OTHER REQUIREMENTS Must have satisfactory driving record, background and fingerprinting check, and drug screening prior to starting employment.
