HVAC TECHNICIAN JOB DESCRIPTION Job Description: The HVAC Technician is required to monitor, repair, and maintain commercial heating and cooling equipment. In addition, we are looking for someone who has 3 or more years experience operating a BAS system such as Trane Tracer. Responsibilities include complete evaluation of the operations of the equipment using gauges, voltmeters, leak detectors, sling pycnometers, static, and velocity instruments. Requirements: o EPA Certification o Extensive experience repairing and maintaining central plant and all other HVAC equipment to include air handlers and RTU’s o Overall MEP maintenance experience o Experience operating a Building Automation system along with analyzing the data Essential Duties and Responsibilities: o Oversee monitoring and operation of the BAS system including being able to create and analyze reports within the BAS system Provide maintenance and repairs on HVAC/Refrigeration systems o Advanced knowledge water or air cooled chillers o Advanced knowledge in all aspects of cooling tower operations and maintenance o HVAC and equipment and systems to include chillers, cooling towers, AHU’s, RTU’s, split systems, FCU’s and commercial kitchen equipment o When on call, be available to respond to emergency situations during or after hours, for the purpose of resolving immediate safety concerns or major HVAC/ Refrigeration issues o Process work-orders, maintenance calls etc. using provided mobile technology o Communication, customer service skills and strong attention to details o Adherence to all work safety policies and procedures Education and Experience: Associate Degree (AA) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school with an emphasis in HVAC preferred. Must have a minimum of five (5) years verifiable related experience working on commercial HVAC systems and BAS systems. Certificates and Licenses: EPA Section 608 Certification required. Certifications/licenses as may be required by local or state jurisdictions. Reasoning Ability: Ability to comprehend, analyze, and interpret complex documents. Ability to solve problems involving several options in situations. Requires advanced analytical and quantitative skills. Other Skills and Abilities: Physical requirements to include stooping, standing, climbing and frequent lifting of a minimum of 50 lbs. Must have the ability to operate a BAS and CMMS system. Intermediate skills with Microsoft Office Suite. Ability to handle multiple projects and make decisions.
