We are seeking a skilled and dependable HVAC Service Technician with experience in cell tower cooling systems to join our team. This position is responsible for performing preventative maintenance and service on HVAC units—primarily Bard and Marvair wall-mounted systems—at remote telecom and cellular tower sites. The technician must be available for on-call service and able to be dispatched to investigate and/or repair system issues as needed. Key Responsibilities: ● Perform scheduled preventative maintenance on HVAC units at cell tower sites to ensure continuous uptime and compliance with OEM standards. ● Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair Bard, Marvair, and similar wall-mounted or self-contained cooling units. ● Inspect components such as compressors, capacitors, motors, relays, and thermostats for wear and proper function. ● Monitor system performance and report potential failures to prevent equipment downtime. ● On-Call Availability: Being available to respond quickly to alarms or system failures is usually a must. · Respond to emergency service calls; be available for on-call rotation, including nights, weekends, and holidays. ● Maintain detailed and accurate maintenance logs, service reports, and equipment records. ● Work independently in the field, sometimes in remote or unmanned environments, following all safety protocols. ● Maintain a clean and organized service vehicle with the appropriate tools, equipment, and parts. ● Communicate clearly with dispatch, team members, and site contacts regarding service work and recommendations. ● Install or replace duct systems in telecommunication shelters. ● Test electrical circuits and components for continuity, using electrical test equipment. ● Test pipe or tubing joints and connections for leaks using a pressure gauge or soap-and-water solution. ● Layout and connect electrical wiring between the controls and equipment according to the wiring diagram. ● Troubleshoot low voltage control systems. ● Understanding of underground gas monitoring, system, (AKA, Sierra 2400, Sierra 2450, Quest control systems). ● Complete all necessary safety and technical training. ● Maintain safe work practices. ● Enter time into the database ● Create work performed reports for Supervisor. ● Make recommendations for site repairs. Preferred Experience: ● Familiarity with Bard and Marvair HVAC systems is strongly preferred. ● Experience working with wall-mounted units and HVAC systems in telecom shelters, modular buildings, or remote site setups is a plus. Requirements: ● High school diploma or equivalent; technical training or HVAC certification preferred. ● Minimum 2 years of experience in HVAC service or preventative maintenance. ● Strong understanding of HVAC systems, diagnostics, and OEM guidelines. ● Ability to read and interpret schematics, manuals, and service documents. ● Valid driver’s license and clean driving record. ● EPA certification (Type I and II or Universal) is a plus. ○ Universal refrigerant card (include 410a) EPA 608.
