What you will be doing As a Maintenance Electrician at our Merced production facility, you'll play a crucial role in maintaining the electrical systems of our food production lines. Your responsibilities will include troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining electrical equipment, as well as working closely with the maintenance and production teams to minimize downtime and improve safety and efficiency. The position will be based in Merced, CA. The pay range for this position is $36-38 an hour, depending upon experience and skills. Starting rates will vary based on things like location, experience, qualifications, and the terms of any applicable collective bargaining agreement. Additional premiums for swing and grave shifts are available. Dependent on length of service, hours worked and any applicable collective bargaining agreement, benefits include medical, dental, vision, disability and life insurance, sick pay (accrued based on hours worked), PTO/Vacation pay (accrued based on hours worked), paid holidays (between 7-9 days annually), bereavement pay, and retirement benefits (pension and/or 401k eligibility). Main responsibilities • Repair / maintain machinery and bakery equipment like mixers, dividers, proof boxes, baking ovens, baggers, wrappers, coders, tray washers, conveyors, etc. to prevent downtime. • Perform all scheduled preventive maintenance (PMs) on equipment as per the maintenance compliance program. • Inspect plant equipment as assigned to monitor health and functionality. • Assist in diagnosing malfunctions in machinery and equipment. • Requisitions to maintain the supply of spare parts as needed. • Interpret specifications, blueprints, and job orders of assigned duties. • Effectively communicate both verbally and in writing. • Perform other tasks as assigned. • Work closely with operators and site teams to increase uptime, which helps keep food moving to our stores and communities. What we are searching for. We believe the successful candidate has these qualifications and experience: • High School Degree or equivalent • 1+ years' experience working in warehouse, fulfillment, or manufacturing • 1+ years' experience with mechanical and/or electrical repair required • Education/certification in the use of mechanical tools, industrial electrical, PLC, VFD, pneumatics, and hydraulics • Proven experience as a maintenance electrician, preferably in a food production or manufacturing environment. • Solid knowledge of electrical systems, troubleshooting, and repair techniques. • Basic understanding and /or experience of electrical blueprints, PLC, VFD, refrigeration- glycol system, boilers, fabrication, welding, gearbox, pumps, sprockets, chains, pullies, and conveyors • Familiarity with equipment and safety standards (e.g., OSHA, GMP). • Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills. • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment. • Physical ability to stand, walk, and perform maintenance duties for extended periods.
