Supervisor, Construction & Maintenance - Electric Division (Salary Range $30.45 - $48.72 / hour) The purpose of this classification is to supervise operations and staff involved in the installation, construction and maintenance of electric lines for the Department of Public Utilities. Essential Functions • Supervises, directs, and evaluates assigned staff • Organizes, prioritizes, and assigns work • Supervises preventive and corrective maintenance and repairs on electrical distribution and transmission equipment and components • Maintains inventory of materials to complete projects • Ensures compliance with all applicable codes, laws, rules, regulations, standards, guidelines, policies and procedures • Processes a variety of documentation associated with department/division operations, within designated timeframes and per established procedures: • Operates a personal computer and other electronic devices • Utilizes maintenance, work order, or department-specific software • Communicates with supervisor, DPU employees, outside agencies, customers, the public, and other individuals • May be required to work after normal business hours, weekends, holidays, Standby Duty or be called out as needed 24 hours/day 7 days/week to maintain service to customers. • Performs other duties as required. Minimum Qualifications • Associate Degree in Electrical or Mechanical Construction and Maintenance or a related field required; supplemented by six (6) years of experience in electrical line construction, and maintenance to include two years lead or supervisory experience; or any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience which provides the requisite knowledge, skills, and abilities for this job.
