Plant Electrician - 1st Shift

Talento Search Group has an opening for a Plant Electrician in the North Charleston, South Carolina area. This is a direct-hire position on 1st shift. Duties & Responsibilities: • Troubleshoot, install, maintain, and repair electronic equipment • Install and repair electrical control systems • Use the CMMS system to complete work orders • Troubleshoot PLC's, wire control cabinets, change PLC cards • Troubleshoot and repair 480V, circuit breakers, motor starters, start/stop circuits, AC/DC motors, replace motors, and fuses • Repair signal transmission equipment including tubing and wiring Experience Needed: • At least 3 years of industrial electrical maintenance experience • Technical degree in Industrial Electronics or related field is preferred • At least 3 years of PLC and VFD troubleshooting experience • Experience reading blueprints and drawings • Experience with adjustable speed equipment • Experience with the layout, installation, and troubleshooting of 480V, circuit breakers, motor starters, start/stop circuits, AC/DC motors, and fuses • Strong knowledge of National Electric Code • Ability to work at heights and climb ladders About Talento Search Group: Talento Search Group is an executive-search firm servicing manufacturing and logistics companies nationwide. Electrician Mechanic

JOB PURPOSE/REASON: Under general supervision, the purpose of the position is to perform skilled technical and mechanical carpentry work. Employees in this classification perform at a journeyman level and have previous experience in the trade. Employees are accountable for ensuring all work is performed in compliance with all applicable building codes, standards and regulatory requirements. Employees work with considerable independence; however, they confer with the Carpenter Master Foreman in unusual carpentry matters. EXPERIENCE & TRAINING: High School Diploma or equivalent, supplemented by completion of an acceptable National or South Carolina recognized apprentice-level carpentry training program. Five (5) years comparable experience. Nine (9) years if apprentice-level training program was not completed PRIMARY POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES: Perform a variety of journeyman level electrical work; install, maintain and repair a variety of electrical systems, parts and equipment including electrical circuits, conduits, light fixtures, fans, generators, appliances, control devices, switchers, outlets and electrical motors – 30%. Install or replace necessary interior and exterior wiring for equipment, appliances, fire alarms, master clocks and lighting; perform repairs to related electrical equipment – 20%. Install, repair, adjust and service electrical motors; replace bearings, pulleys, belts and other parts – 15%. Install new power lines in building alteration or construction; run new lines and connect electrical source to irrigation system controllers and timers – 15%. SECONDARY POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES: Operates heavy equipment and machinery as designated by the assigned work area, e.g., bucket truck, man lifts, trenchers, fork lifts – 5%. Assist in ordering, receiving and storing supplies and equipment; contact vendors to order or obtain information concerning parts and equipment; obtain prices and determine total cost of labor and materials as assigned – 5%. Test continuity of circuits to ensure electrical compatibility and safety of all components using such instruments as ohmmeter, ammeter and multi-meter – 5%. Reads, interprets and/or utilizes various blue prints, drawings, diagrams, and technical/electrical manuals. Ensures all work is performed in compliance with all applicable electrical codes, standards and regulatory requirements – 5%. PHYSICAL/MENTAL REQUIREMENTS: Must be able to exert up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 50 pounds of force frequently, and/or a negligible amount of force constantly to move objects. Must possess strength, stamina and mobility to perform physical work. Must be willing to perform all related vehicle repair duties. Ability to operate manual and electric tools and diagnostic equipment, e.g., welding equipment, recovery equipment, gauges, and torch. Must be licensed to operate motor vehicles within the state of SC. Sedentary Work: N/A Stress Level: Must possess skills to meet deadlines for time sensitive projects.
