We are seeking an Electrical Counter Sales Associate to join our Greenwood team. The Electrical Counter Sales Associate plays a crucial role in assisting our customers during the sales process. This position involves providing professional customer service, maintaining product knowledge, and supporting warehouse functions. The associate is expected to promote products, handle sales transactions, and ensure a clean and organized work environment. Responsibilities • Assist customers in person or over the phone/Internet during the sales process. • Conduct sales transactions by accurately entering customer orders into the computer system. • Maintain awareness of all pertinent product information, merchandise promotions, and advertisements. • Market all products sold and suggest replacement or alternative products when appropriate. • Understand the entire sales process from order to payment. • Pick and fill orders as appropriate, ensuring accuracy. • Assist customers loading their purchases in their vehicles • Process product returns and maintain accurate documentation. • Generate product stock requests as needed. • Consult with the Credit department regarding customer credit issues. • Maintain the counter and product display area, ensuring a safe and clean environment. • Re-stock product and information displays and prepare customer refreshments. • Provide basic price quotation services and track these quotations. • Place follow-up calls to open will-call customers regarding held merchandise. • Assist in warehouse duties such as stocking and labeling shelves. • Maintain positive working relationships with all staff. • Observe customer opportunities and report them to the Branch Manager. • Assist with shipping and receiving processes as needed. • Periodically deliver customer orders in a company vehicle. • Occasionally operate a forklift to assist in warehouse duties. • Complete stock checks for the Purchasing Department as requested. • Help ensure security of the counter and warehouse and report suspicious activities to management. • Participate in company-sanctioned training opportunities and attend meetings. • Follow quality service standards and comply with procedures, rules and regulations Qualifications • Previous experience in electrical sales/retail • Strong communication skills with the ability to engage customers effectively. • Basic math skills for handling cash and processing transactions. • Experience in cash handling procedures is a plus. • Bilingual candidates are encouraged to apply to better serve our diverse customer base. • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail. • Commitment to high ethical standards in professional behavior. • A positive attitude and willingness to learn about products and services. • Demonstrated time management and organizational skills. • Ability to work well in a team environment. • Valid driver’s license with clean driving record • High School diploma or equivalent.
