Low Voltage Service Technician

Job Description Firmament Solutions is an IT service company that performs IT Infrastructure Services and installation which includes structure cabling, Access Control, CCTV, Security Systems, Gaming Systems, Fire Alarm systems, and life safety equipment. Firmament is currently looking to fill a number of IT Network Field Service Technicians. This is a contract-to-hire position to start and could lead to permanent full-time employment. Technicians must be able to work independently and are responsible for complete installation and full servicing of systems and equipment. This includes reviewing work orders for project specifications, installing, maintaining, repairing (ordering and replacement of faulty parts), testing, diagnosing, and servicing various types of equipment, machinery, or systems. Completing and maintaining daily notes of installation, maintenance, repairs, and service history, progress reports showing that project specs are completed, and picture documentation before closing the job. Experience: • CCTV: 3 years (Required) • Cabling: 3 years (Required) • Alarm System & Access Control Technicians: 2 years (Preferred) • Fire Alarm: 3 years (Preferred) Job Duties: • Maintain cable systems by installing, repairing, programming, and upgrading cable infrastructure • Perform major and minor preventive maintenance and repairs by troubleshooting cabling system issues • Complete required paperwork including installation checklist, timesheets, service orders, vehicle inspection report and various other logs. • Place, label, and identify Cat5e, 6, 6a, and 7 voice/data twisted pair cable • Build pathways for cable (cable tray, ladder rack, Jhooks, etc.) • Disassemble equipment and inspects and tests wiring to locate and repair problems • Terminate/label workstation outlets • Troubleshoot and test voice/data cable • Communicate with onsite customer contact in a professional manner • Ability To access network equipment using putty or SSH • Troubleshoot NVRs, IP cameras, network devices, etc. • Install and troubleshoot intrusion/fire alarm systems • Record time and materials used on daily work assignment • Perform fiber termination and Installations • Perform CCTV Installation & Telecommunications Repairs Job Qualifications: • Experience in cabling (3 years preferred) • Security systems experience (3 years preferred) • Travelling required some overnights • Available to work evenings, weekends, and overtime • Must maintain a valid Driver’s License • Able to lift at least 50 lbs. • Able to climb 12 ft ladder • Experience With Scissor or Boom Lift • Show indepth knowledge of National Building Codes and standards. • Positive attitude • Ability to work flexible times such as nights or weekends Job Type: Full-time Pay: $26.00 - $35.00 per hour Expected hours: 32 – 50 per week Benefits: • 401(k) • Dental insurance • Vision insurance • Health insurance • Life insurance • Short Term Disability • Long Term Disability • Paid time off • Fuel Expense Schedule: • Sunday through Friday • Overtime • Weekends as needed Supplemental Pay: • Bonus opportunities Education: • High school or equivalent (Preferred) • Industry Certifications Work Location: On the road
