The position will focus on electrical work and will also be responsible for operating, monitoring, maintaining, and/or repairing gas-fired boilers and perform routine chemical testing. Must be willing to work evening and night shifts and be available for call-in. Also, tasked with other day-to-day maintenance activities as assigned. Requirements EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE: • High school diploma or GED • Minimum of 5 years maintenance experience • Electrical training and experience preferred • Computer literate, including experience with Microsoft Office Word and Excel • Safety training, including MSDS, electrical, lifting, and rigging KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS: • Must have knowledge of maintenance and construction including structural, electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and mechanical • Must have working knowledge of the principles of combustion and boiler firing practices. • Must be able to communicate effectively • Must be familiar with the use of basic office equipment, such as a computer, copier, and fax machine • Must be familiar with the use and operation of basic hand tools, equipment and machinery, such as lawn mower, skid steer, end loader, backhoe, boom lift, punch press, sheer, table saw, drill, router, sander, welder, oxygen/acetylene torch, plasma cutter. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: • Metal Fabrication - Cutting, welding, drilling, tapping & design (stairs, railings, catwalks, guards platforms, etc) • Air Conditioning - Maintenance, service and troubleshooting. • Carpentry - Cabinets, new offices and remodel (framing sheetrock, tape & texture), false ceilings, flooring (carpet, ceramic tile, linoleum, etc), trim, doors, windows. • Cleaning - Dust mop, wet mop, vacuuming (Blueprint room, QC area, Mailroom, Model Shop, Test Kitchen and IBM room). • Roof Drain - Installation, repair, piping, periodic cleaning of drains & catch basins • Building and Grounds Maintenance • Pipe Fitting - Install pipes-steam heaters, sewer lines, water lines, airlines, hoses reels, etc. • Copper Pipe Tubing - Flaring, bending, soldering and brazing. • Chain Link Fence and Gates - Installation and maintenance, clearing of brush, etc. • Lighting - Repair and changing. • Guard Posts-Core drilling and installation. OTHER DUTIES: • Snow Removal • Masonry- Block walls, partitioning, flatwork, installation and demolition, floor repair (potholes, etc) • Landscape -Lawn care, grading, retaining walls, lawn mowing, trimming hedges, tree trimming, tree removal, etc. • Help unload semi-trailer • Machinery - Installation and alignment (erect dust collectors, etc) ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONS: Work is performed in warehouse/manufacturing areas and outside with exposure to excessive noise, dust, fumes, and temperature changes.
