Responsibilities: The successful candidate for this position will be responsible for the Commissioning, Quality Assurance, specification, installation, programming, calibration, preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of electrical equipment to improve field system operation/uptime and reduce total operating costs. Qualifications: • High School diploma or GED • Excellent diagnostic and repair skills for complex problems in Electrical distribution systems • Capable of installing, troubleshooting, and repairing switchboard control panels and components, motor circuits, building and lighting circuits, and control circuits • Capable of understanding mechanical relay logic and ladder logic • Capable of programming simple ladder logic and VFD’s • Proficient at reading electrical installation drawings. Circuit schedules, plans, area class, motor schematics and wiring diagrams • Proficient at using all test equipment associated with troubleshooting electrical equipment • Knowledgeable of NEC and OSHA standards. • Able to safely supervise electrical contract work • Able to effectively interface with electrical engineers and energy providers • Able to perform preventive maintenance on low voltage electrical equipment such as switchgear, breakers, etc. • Good computer skills • Team oriented, flexible, and able to work with minimal supervision. Additional Desired Qualifications • Minimum Journeyman electrician license • 3-5 years oilfield experience preferred, with a responsible attitude for personal safety and the safety of co-workers, contractors & the public • Electrically qualified per OSHA 1910.269 up to 600V Relocation will not be provided. Job no: 499109 Work type: Faculty Location: Platteville Categories: Engineering Position Summary: The Electrical and Computer Engineering Department at the University of Wisconsin-Platteville invites applications to fill a tenure-track faculty position as Assistant Professor in electrical engineering specializing in Power and Energy. This position will teach, conduct research, and provide community and university service. This is a full time, benefit-eligible position with a 9-month academic appointment. Salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience. The University of Wisconsin System has a nationally top ranked retirement plan and a comprehensive benefits package. The department also provides relocation assistance, and the university has a Trailing Partners Engagement Program. Candidates that have experience in undergraduate instruction and mentoring, online instruction, research and teaching related to Power and Energy systems are encouraged to apply. Responsibilities: The primary responsibility will be to develop and teach undergraduate courses in Electrical Engineering and related subjects including labs. The department consists of the Electrical Engineering program, Computer Engineering program, and Sustainability and Renewable Energy Systems program.
