Job Title: INDUSTRIAL UTILITIES ELECTRICIAN Closing Date/Time: Open Till Filled Salary: $28.91 - $42.21 Hourly Job Type: Classified (Full-Time with benefits) Location: Lake Havasu City, Arizona Department: PW/Wastewater SCADA INITIAL APPLICATION REVIEW WILL TAKE PLACE TWO WEEKS AFTER OPEN. SPECIAL NOTE: Incumbent works outdoors and is exposed to extreme temperatures, confined spaces, and traffic. May be subject to call back. Primary assignment will be in Water/Wastewater SCADA. JOB DESCRIPTION: Provides lead direction and work coordination for assigned staff ensuring that assigned projects are completed in a satisfactory and timely manner. Skillfully performs journeymen level work in the installation, modification, repair, and maintenance of water/wastewater electrical systems, control systems, instrumentation and equipment. Work is performed under the general direction of the SCADA Supervisor. The ideal candidate will have strong computer skills and be self-motivated, trustworthy, and reliable. They will have strong electrical and mechanical aptitude and will be able to complete their work in a safe and timely manner. They will be able to work with limited supervision and have the integrity to do their job properly. Knowledge of RSLogix 500, RS Logix 5000, and AutoCad is highly desirable. The ideal candidate must be flexible, possess good communication skills, and be able to work with others. Extensive experience in the water and wastewater industry highly preferred. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: High school diploma or GED and extensive electrical experience in the maintenance and repair of motor control centers, industrial motor controls, instrumentation and moderate supervisory or lead experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS: Valid State Driver's License ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required and are subject to change as needs and job requirements change. Troubleshoots, maintains, and performs repairs to motor control centers for 3 phase 480v booster pumps and wells. Troubleshoots and has the ability to diagnose and connect 3 phase and single-phase motors. Troubleshoots and repairs energized 480-volt circuits on Soft Starts, Variable Frequency Drives, and magnetic Motor Starters to determine causes of equipment malfunction. Installs electrical systems with or without blueprints, performs calculations involved in the proper sizing of conduit, transformer, electrical starters, and circuits in accordance with National Electrical Code standards and Regulations (NEC), OSHA and industry standards. Reads and interprets ladder logic & one-line motor control diagrams. Makes recommendations on modifications to existing or new equipment and can coordinate with engineers and contractors required to make modifications to new or existing equipment. Organizes work orders and completes maintenance schedules; Performs scheduled inspections and performs proper preventative maintenance on all electrical equipment. Diagnoses cause of faulty operation, making necessary repairs and improvements to ensure system requirements of operation. Utilizes AutoCad Electrical to create or modify electrical drawings. Uses Rockwell Software RSLogix 500 and RSLogix 5000 to trouble-shoot PLC related issues. Operates hand tools, power equipment, and a variety of vehicles. Provides direction, set operating benchmarks, goals and objectives, and verifies work for assigned staff. Communicates and acts in a professional manner with the public, co-workers, and work contacts. Provides excellent customer service to both internal and external customers. Performs related work as required. Operates and maintains motor vehicles or other work-related equipment requiring a valid driver's license. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES: Extensive knowledge of motor control centers, maintenance, and repair procedures; extensive knowledge of electrical systems; extensive knowledge of National Electrical Code standards, regulations, and industry standards; extensive knowledge of AutoCad Electrical; extensive knowledge of Rockwell Software RSLogix 500 and RSLogix 5000. Skill in the use of specialized equipment and hand tools to which assigned; skill in preparing and analyzing written or computer data, skill in the use of computers and relevant software packages, hardware, and peripheral equipment; skill in reading and interpreting drawings and specification; skill in reading and interpreting blueprints; skill in maintaining, inspecting, and repairing equipment; skill in troubleshooting problems. Ability to work independently and to complete daily activities according to work schedule; ability to understand and follow specific oral instructions; ability to perform manual labor for extended periods, often under unfavorable weather conditions; ability to read and write; ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with associates, supervisors, contractors, vendors, and the general public.
