Electrician 3 - Flagstaff, AZ

The Electrician 3 is responsible for providing advanced skills in all areas of electrical systems, including installation, maintenance, repair and troubleshooting. Areas of responsibility include conduit installation, wiring, light installation, motors and controls, life safety systems, electrical distribution equipment and electrical devices. This position requires extensive knowledge and maintaining of certifications of local and national electrical safety and compliance codes. This position is responsible for maintaining all electrical distribution systems including Medium Voltage Systems/components (above 600 volts). This position will maintain certification(s) for maintenance and testing for Medium Voltage electrical systems. This position will mentor Electricians 1 and 2, maintain the Electrical Safety Program, including training and compliance certifications and oversee the Electrical PPE and compliance of Electricians 1 and 2. Responsibilities Equipment Repair/Installation • Repairs broken equipment and fixtures. • Repairs broken electrical/life safety system components. • Troubleshoots and diagnoses issues/problems. • Assist Life Safety and HVAC Technicians as needed. • Installs new components and fixtures. • Work as liaison between Electrical Supervisor and vendors. Equipment Life Cycle Management • Reviews equipment history and system replacement recommendations. • Identifies, analyzes and integrates technical equipment requirements. • Collaborates with the Construction Department to determine electrical component standards and expectations. Equipment Preventive Maintenance • Performs preventative maintenance on equipment, fixtures, etc (specified by manufacturer). • Calibrates testing equipment/devices (specified by manufacturer). Code Response • Demonstrates the ability to remain calm and perform duties during high intensity/high stress situations and move quickly and safely though the hallways/stairwells in response to code calls. • Demonstrates knowledge of hospital layout and department names. General Facilities Operations • Demonstrates knowledge of computer skills (email), work order system(s), and internet navigation, mechanical, electrical and plumbing systems. • Demonstrates the ability to use basic tools and diagnostic equipment. • Demonstrates the ability to read and follow the instructions on product labels and manuals. • Demonstrates the ability to work in cold and wet weather during snow removal. • Demonstrates the ability to maintain a clean work site, responsibly manage tools/equipment/vehicles, maintain common work areas to department expectations. • Demonstrates the ability to adjust the schedule to accommodate the needs of the hospital, including minimum staffing levels, on-call coverage, and cost-containment measures when after-hours work is required. Compliance/Safety • Responsible for reporting any safety-related incident in a timely fashion through the Midas/RDE tool; attends all safety-related training programs; performs work in a safe manner; monitors work environment for possible safety issues and ensures others are also performing work in a safe manner. • Stays current and complies with state and federal regulations/statutes and company policies that impact the employee's area of responsibility. • If required for the position, ensures all certifications and/or licenses are up-to-date and valid prior to expiration dates. • Completes all company mandatory modules and required job-specific training in the specified time frame. Qualifications Education High School Diploma or GED - Required Completion of a four year accredited electrical apprenticeship program - Preferred Certification & Licensures NFPA 70 and NFPA70e - Required within 12 months of the date of hire Experience Minimum 10 years experience as a medium voltage commercial/industrial journeyman electrician - Required Healthcare is a rapidly changing environment and technology is integrated into almost all aspects of patient care.
