Industrial Electrician

Basic Job Functions: The role of the Industrial Electrical Technician is to be a great team member who demonstrates high levels of honesty, integrity, and ownership in everything they do. In addition, the selected candidates will ensure the success of the team by SAFELY performing Preventative and Corrective maintenance on steel mill equipment and systems, as well as proposing and implementing innovative solutions to challenges in the steel making process. The Maintenance Electrical Technician will work rotating shifts, scheduled and unscheduled overtime. Safety is the most important part of all jobs within the company; therefore, candidates must be able to demonstrate the ability to initiate, lead, and uphold safety policies, practices, procedures, and housekeeping standards at all times. Minimum Qualifications: • Experience troubleshooting 480V motors and controls. • 2+ years’ experience in industrial or military electrical maintenance. • Need to understand and still be an expert of basic electrical theory learned in "A" school • Extensive high voltage systems maintenance, operation and theory, including electrode regulation Preferred Qualifications: • 2-year or 4-year degree in electrical or related field. • Experience in steel mill electrical maintenance. • Experience with drives, PLC’s, Level 1 devices, and NFPA 70E. • Experience maintaining overhead cranes. • Exposure to electrical substation equipment and maintenance practices. Requirements: • Journeyman Electrician certificate preferred, but not required. • Extensive knowledge of the NEC and NFPA code. • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record. • Experience operating basic construction equipment and power tools. • Ability to price materials, complete estimates, and generate invoices. • Proficiency in reading and interpreting plans, blueprints, and schematics. • Familiarity with CRM software and customer relations management. • Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills. • Strong communication and interpersonal skills. • Ability to work well in a team environment and assist with training apprentices. • Experience with commercial and residential service controls, including lighting, controls, VFDs, and PLCs is a plus. • Must have 4+ years’ experience, Journeyman Certificate preferred but not required. Overview We are a Indiana based design/build electrical contractor performing work nationally, seeking skilled and reliable Electrical Journeymen to join our growing team. This full-time traveling position involves working on large-scale commercial and industrial projects across the country on company sponsored 17 days on / 4 days off rotation. The ideal candidate will have extensive field experience, a strong work ethic, and the ability to collaborate effectively with foremen and project managers in a fast-paced construction environment. Duties · Install, maintain, and repair electrical systems in commercial and industrial settings according to NEC and project specifications. · Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and construction documents. · Collaborate with the foreman and team members to ensure project timelines and quality standards are met. · Adhere to safety standards and company policies while working on active job sites. · Identify and troubleshoot issues in electrical systems and components. · Assist in mentoring apprentices on job tasks and best practices.
