Job Summary We are seeking a skilled Electricians to join our team. The ideal candidates will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing electrical systems in residential, commercial, and industrial settings. This role requires a strong understanding of electrical codes and safety standards, as well as the ability to read blueprints and technical diagrams. The Electricians will work closely with other tradespeople to ensure that projects are completed efficiently and safely. Duties • Install, maintain, and repair electrical wiring, equipment, and fixtures according to the National Electrical Code (NEC) • Read and interpret blueprints and technical diagrams to determine the layout of electrical systems • Utilize power tools and hand tools effectively for various tasks including frame carpentry • Conduct tests using voltmeters, ammeters, and ohmmeters to ensure proper functionality of electrical systems • Troubleshoot electrical issues and provide solutions promptly • Collaborate with contractors and other tradespeople on construction projects • Ensure compliance with safety regulations and practices while working with high voltage systems Experience • Proven experience as a Commercial Electrician or similar role • Familiarity with electrical systems in both residential and commercial settings • Proficient in using power tools and testing equipment such as voltmeters, ammeters, and ohmmeters • Strong skills in blueprint reading and understanding of NEC guidelines • Experience in frame carpentry is a plus We encourage qualified candidates who are dedicated to safety and excellence in their work to apply for this exciting opportunity. Substation Electrician

About the position The Substation Electrician at the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey is responsible for performing equipment operations and electrical maintenance within the PATH Substations and Switching Stations. This role involves the operation, maintenance, and repair of various high-tension electrical systems and associated power apparatus, ensuring the reliability and safety of electrical services. Responsibilities • Assist in the assembly, installation, testing, maintenance, troubleshooting, alteration, dismantling, and/or repair of electrical and power apparatus throughout PATH. , • Prepare written reports and document test results as directed. , • Cut, bend, thread, and install conduit, raceways, and related hardware. , • Drill holes, install hangars, and perform other field construction work using hand and power tools. , • Clean, service, and/or paint junction boxes, power apparatus, and electrical housings. , • Assist in the installation, splicing, and testing of power and control cables; moving and handling heavy cable reels. , • Respond to emergencies, unusual occurrences, or weather affecting power and electrical facilities, including power outages and electrical malfunctions. , • Transport personnel, materials, equipment, and tools between various locations and work sites using a PATH vehicle. , • Work at elevated heights from ladders and bucket trucks, in severe weather conditions, and in cramped, slippery, dusty locations. Requirements • High School diploma or GED from an accredited institution. , • Three years of full-time continuous paid work experience at the journey level performing duties in the installation, care, testing, maintenance, and/or repair of electrical equipment. , • Valid Driver's License. Nice-to-haves • Ability to troubleshoot, diagnose, repair, and install motors, lighting systems, controllers, cables, and conduit. , • Experience as a Journeyman Level Electrician or Licensed Electrical Contractor with Medium Voltage electrical experience. , • Skilled in maintaining and repairing Medium Voltage electrical systems and switchgear. , • Skilled in maintaining and repairing 480vac electrical systems and switchgear. , • Skilled in maintaining and repairing 650vdc electrical systems and switchgear would be a plus. , • Knowledge of state and local electrical codes. Electrical Systems Specialist

Electrical Inspector The Port Authority of New York and New Jersey is seeking an experienced Electrical Inspector to join the Construction Management & Inspection Services team at Newark Liberty International Airport. • Inspect HVAC, mechanical, plumbing, electrical, and fire-alarm work for conformance with contract documents, NEC/NFPA70, NFPA72, ICC Mechanical/Building Codes, and PANYNJ technical standards. • Read and interpret drawings, specifications, shop drawings, and RFIs. • Prepare clear daily narratives, controlled-inspection reports, T&M records, sketches, and unit-price documentation. • Develop independent estimates for potential extra-work items. Job Responsibilities • Serve as a field liaison among the Resident Engineer, contractors, facility operations, and other stakeholders-communicating in person, via two-way radio, and in writing. • Participate in pre-construction and progress meetings; flag constructability issues and recommend solutions early. • Review contractor pay applications and advise the Resident Engineer on reasonableness. Quality and Safety Assurance • Conduct site audits to verify workmanship, equipment installation, testing, and commissioning meet project requirements. • Enforce OSHA, fall-protection, trenching, and confined-space regulations; stop work or escalate issues when safety or quality is at risk. • Coordinate contractor activities with active airport operations to maintain uninterrupted, safe facility use. The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering (Mechanical Engineering or related discipline considered) and 5 years of field inspection experience on HVAC and fire-alarm projects ranging from $500K to $5M.
