There may be other types of work that may be performed, and the omission of a particular duty or function does not exclude that duty or function from the position provided the duty or function is similar in work, related to the work or logically assigned to the position. • Inspects electrical installations and alterations to ensure compliance with pertinent codes and regulations. • Discusses plans and problems with interested parties and assists and advises. • Examines more comprehensive plans and offers recommendations to ensure proper installations. • Issues permits, answers correspondence, processes electrical licenses • Prepares examinations for journeymen and master electricians. • Investigate possible violations and enforce correction of defects; keep records and make reports. • Requires proficient computer skills, internet, and computer software. • Must attend continuing education training programs. MINIMUM EDUCATIONAL AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS: • High School graduate. • Three (3) years’ experience as a journeyman craftsman in the specialized field, or in an equivalent supervisory capacity. • Any equivalent combination of education and experience. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES: • Thorough knowledge of electrical methods, practices, and pertinent codes and regulations. • Ability to read and interpret plans and specifications. • Demonstrated tact to ensure strict adherence to pertinent regulations without interference with effective relationships. LICENSES AND CERTIFICATIONS: • Valid Connecticut Driver’s License – This job requires daily driving. • Valid E-1 Unlimited Electrical Contractor License. • Certified Electrical Inspector as per Section 29-262-8b of Connecticut General Statutes, if not already attained, is required to be completed by the end of probationary period. Qualifications • High school diploma or GED (or equivalent). • Minimum of 4 years of experience in industrial or power industry electrical and instrumentation maintenance, or at least 2 years as a 3rd class E&I Technician with required instrumentation training/experience. • Relevant licenses as required by state, environmental, or federal regulatory agencies. • Ability to stand, sit, walk, handle tools and equipment, reach, climb, stoop, kneel, bend, push, pull, crawl, and ascend/descend stairs and ladders as part of normal work activities. • Capability to lift up to 50 lbs and move throughout all areas of the plant, including catwalks, deck grating, and uneven surfaces. • Ability to operate fire extinguishing equipment and access confined spaces as required. • Strong attention to safety procedures and ability to use personal protective equipment as needed. • Clear communication skills and ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
