Employment Type: Full timeShift: Day Shift Description: Come join the Facilities team at Saint Mary's Hospital, part of Trinity Health Of New England! We are a member of the nationwide Trinity Health family, bringing compassionate care to our communities. Position Purpose: Performs a variety of duties in and around the buildings of the Hospital complex in an effort to repair, maintain and install electrical systems in accordance with codes and Hospital priorities. What you will do: • Installs, operates, maintains and repairs all Hospital electrical systems and equipment. • Maintains, repairs, and installs new electrical equipment according to NFPA, NEC and local electrical codes. • Performs electrical construction and/or maintenance work in accordance with national, state and local codes on single and three phase electrical equipment/systems. • Demonstrates the ability to examine and test elements of systems such as distribution panels, controls, circuit breakers and motors to locate obvious faults such as blown fuses, short circuits, broken wires, loose connections and worn brushes. • Diagnoses, troubleshoots, repairs, and tests electrical circuits and equipment as necessary. • Competently isolates defects in wiring, switches, motors, and other electrical equipment using test equipment such as an amp meter, ohmmeter, voltmeter, test lamp, etc. • Demonstrates the ability to work from wiring diagrams and electrical schematics. • Performs required preventive maintenance (PM) as necessary. • Performs other duties as assigned. Minimum Qualifications: • High School Diploma or equivalent is required. • Successful completion of a 4-year electrical apprenticeship program is required. • Minimum of 5 years electrician experience is required. Healthcare facility setting experience is preferred. • Current Journeyperson Electrical License in the state of employment is required. • Requires the ability to read and understand electrical system prints related to the facility. Must be able to read, write and speak English. Physical and Mental Effort: • Must be able to set and organize own work priorities and adapt to them as they change frequently. As a Plant and Pump Stations Electrician, you'll join a collaborative team ensuring that our clients can deliver their services - uninterrupted. Based in Waterbury, CT, you'll have the opportunity to work with the maintenance team to install, maintain, repair, upgrade, and troubleshoot all electrical equipment, control systems, and instrumentation, at the treatment plant and pump stations. Electrical and mechanical primaries duties include but are not limited to: Perform installation, maintenance and repair of low/medium voltage equipment, pumps, motors and related control and process equipment. Repair and maintain all facility electrical wiring and fixtures in accordance with blueprints, manuals, and building codes using appropriate hand and electrician's tools. Install, troubleshoot and repair VFD's, Motor Soft Starts, and MCC starter buckets. Perform installation, maintenance, modification, and repair of electrical systems involving process controlled and operational equipment. Install and repairs electrical fixtures, apparatus, and control equipment. Repair and maintain major equipment such as motors, generators, and electrical control systems. Test defective equipment to determine the cause of malfunction or failure using standard electrical test equipment. Observe functioning of installed facility equipment to detect hazards and need for adjustment, relocation, or replacement. Inspect circuits and wiring for specified shielding and grounding and repair or rewire plant and pump station equipment systems according to state building codes and safety regulations. Plan layout of new wiring installations. Inspect all equipment on a regularly scheduled basis; meet all requirements of the established preventive maintenance program. Prepare and maintain necessary records/work order to support all maintenance activities.
